I think Chuck was also just doing what was best for his client as much as to stick it to Jimmy. Complex characters, not always black and white.

So Chuck would never "admit" he was faking it since, to him, it is real. Chuck is an asshole but he isn't pretending to have a physical disease. He actually has a mental disease.
