I can only assume that if there was a poll I've already missed it. But if Kakashi Gaiden is referring to 119 & 120 of Shippuden I'd 100% watch those before Shippuden. It was published before "Shippuden" (during the hiatus/time-skip) in the manga, and from what I can recall there's nothing extra added to the anime, so I think that'd definitely be the most effective placing. Before Shippuden. It's how it was intended and flows the best that way. IMO As others have mentioned though, since it's 119 and 120 of Shippuden, there are the intros and outros to look out for. But nothing in-episode.

Watching in the order the show presents makes certain things ridiculously obvious, so yeah, please watch it before. Just avoid the OP or outro.

As a fan that grew up with Naruto and Naruto Shippuden for 10+ years, sub has adds more emotional weight for the watchers and characters rather than dub. The dub, I would say, is 90% consistent from the original source but like what others say, I agree that it falls off heavily later on the season. Would you guys rather feel emotional during emotional episodes or feel comfortable during the journey? Overall, its just my opinion. I support the decision you guys make!

To the ppl who watched the anime but didn’t read the manga: trust me when I say it felt right reading it before shippuden and helps enhance shippuden in subtle ways (I won’t give spoilers to explain what I mean but hopefully you get what I mean).

Please please watch Samurai Champloo during this break before Shippuden and after FLCL. I know you guys have heard this before but it is relatively short and sweet and it will undoubtedly become one of your favourites.

Watch Kakashi Gaiden before Shippuden. For one, it follows the manga storyline. Secondly, it's a tale of Kakashi as a child. This lines up with the story so far because everyone are still kids. Lastly, it fits the tone of why Kakashi was trying to prevent Naruto and Sasuke from fighting.

I think more people just find the japanese voice acting to be strictly better in terms of emotion and authenticity. I guess its a pain to read the subs but pro-sub people would rather do that and have the Normies see that, than have the english voice acting. Wont take much time to get used to and I think it would improve the quality of the show for them. In the end its up to the Normies though, so whatever we get is fine

Though I feel Shippuuden is reaching its peak early on. Like: After The fight with Sakura and the old lady against Akatsuki. Jirayas big Fight is also nice but everything else turns way too much into DBZ Shonen style. With energy blasts. and getting overly Big. Wished they kept the scale of fights more grounded. But def. enjoyable. and some of the best openings.

Don't get your hopes up for Sakura. Ino is still a better character than her. And that says a lot. Sakura is a level one in this and in Shippuden she gets to a lvl 10 while everyone else is at least a lvl 40. She gets what tsunade has but she still somehow has no use whatsoever majority of the time.

On the note of sub versus dub, you guys as a group should decide for yourself. I am a passionate naruto fan, as is everyone who watches your reactions. That being said, I grew up watching part 1 on tv in english. The nostalgia is unreal and it doesnt feel right watching part 1 in Japanese for me personally. At some point in shippuden I ran out of episodes because I caught up after the show was taken off the air. The point that the story was at was so amazing and compelling that I said fuck it and started watching in japanese because it was much further ahead. In the beginning it was weird hearing different voices for people (particularly shikamaru) but eventually I got used to it. The sub in shippuden is really amazing and now when I rewatch the end of the show in english dub parts of it sounds weird. If you guys decide to make the switch do it because you guys would prefer to watch it that way, not to cater to us because you simply can’t please everyone. Either way you will love it. I will say that the Japanese voice acting seems more authentic and dramatic which enhances the experience, but it takes some time to get used to. Either way appreciate you guys, I wish I could become part of the group but for now I’ll have to enjoy from the sideline. I NEED THE FIRST TWO EPISODES OF SHIPPUDEN NOW!!

Why? The movies aren't canon. It's basically the filler, and they avoided the filler & non-canon episodes for a reason.

Seconding what everyone is saying about shippuden subs, I don't think there's a huge difference in quality between part one dub and sub but shippuden's became oddly flat during the latter half, like the voice actors all got tired or something. Sub was amazing all the way through, some of the best voice acting I've heard. Either way, it was fun watching your reaction and I hope you enjoy FLCL!

I recommend you guys watch Kakashi Gaiden before watching Naruto Shippuden. Kakashi Gaiden came before shippuden in the manga, and it's very important for the story. Kakashi Gaiden is only 2 episodes, so you can watch it in one session. As weird as it feels, the 2 episodes are 119 and 120 of Naruto Shippuden. You'll have to skip the opening and ED to avoid spoilers, but those 2 episodes are Kakashi Gaiden.

But not before the start of Shippuden.

Imo it’s not imperative to watch KG before Shippuden. I think Episode 1 of Shippuden should be the true return to the series. It is the perfect INTRO and Segue. Before that episode, there was a full year of filler hell, then that episode came and floored everyone. The hype leading up to it was insane. That hype I’m afraid will be lost on you since you’d have technically already returned to Shippuden with KG. Watching KG anytime after episode 1 is more ideal imho. I think the longer you wait and the more time you spend with a character, the more impactful their backstory becomes. This holds especially true for Kakashi’s. It is how we all watched it and it was damn near perfect. A good compromise would be to watch JB’s edit in between the 2ND & 3RD arcs. Everyone gets it much earlier than where the Anime placed it. And it’s somewhat more relevant placement for reasons I can’t get into. Anyways, thank you guys for watching the Supercut, really glad y'all enjoyed it!! Ah, the fear of missing out. When I was little I watched all fillers, not knowing thy were not canon. In fact, when I reached Shippuden and got to the filler arc, I dropped Naruto completely. Picked it up like 3 years later and finished it. Some fillers are okay, average at best. The comedy is good, some fights are good, but nothing spectacular. Everything that happens in these episodes never comes up again. It's like watching a watered down version of Naruto. If you guys want, watch it in your own time, but I bet you won't watch them all. I understand the curiosity. Anyways, I'm hyped for Shippuden, despite liking original Naruto a little more.

Yeah for sure, shippuden dub is decent up to like one third , then it plummets HARD in terms of dub quality while its complete opposite for the sub, sub is always amazing but it just gets even better as the show goes on, its like two completely different shows. I'd rate shippuden as a whole with dub a 6/10, with sub 8.5 or even 9/10, thats how much difference it makes to the show
