Wasn't the republican party the one that most strongly opposed the confederacy and won the civil war? While the democratic party couldnt figure out what they wanted to do and in the end bitched out and shut down for the entire life of the confederacy?

Also, continuing with historical context, the War department figured the loss of life, particularly on the American side and after seeing Japanese resistance on Okinawa, Tarawa ... , would be exponentially higher and would result in street to street fighting all the way across the Japanese homeland. Seeing how the Japanese refused to surrender even after seeing the affects of the first bomb dropped, they had a good point in that regard. Still most people involved felt that the cost of human lives might have been better than unleashing the "nuclear" age and countries positioning themselves to have their own and the threat of world annihilation that followed.

Evil republican things... 2 quick points. democrats were the Confederacy and the Republican party originally formed specifically to oppose slavery. You can say what you want about the current parties and however you view them, but historically, dealing with the confederacy and Civil war, you needed the historical correction. :P

Simmons didn’t want Fitz to do it......... “Paralyzing daisy or destroying the world are two massive risk, Fitz.” Then after he did it she accepted that they have to make hard choices to change the timeline. She wasn’t ok with him doing that to daisy she just accepted that it had to be done after it worked. But saving coulson against his will using a dead body and it being what yo-yo said destroys the world is very different. It’s doing three morally wrong things at the risk of the world just to save one person who doesn’t want it.

I agree with everything else you said, but Fitz did not apologize to Daisy. At the end of 5x15 he said "I'm sorry. I don't need your forgiveness" but it's not really an apology. They were arguing and he didn't really seem to mean it. So we as the audience obviously can see that Fitz does feel bad about what he did and is sorry, but he never actually gave a heartfelt apology to Daisy. (which sucks because Daisy and Fitz were my favorite friendship in the show) But I agree with everything else you said especially about Mack.

Very cool discussion at the end guys. I think of this season as the trolley problem season because ever since the beginning of the season the team has been thrown into those kind of scenarios. They are being forced to choose between very hard choices that aren’t even morally right but could help save the world. Just like with the trolley problem choices many people will disagree on whatever choice you make. But you have to make a choice regardless. Fitz did apologize to daisy he just doesn’t regret making the choice because he had to choose one or the other and they both weren’t good. He made his decision and he accepted it. Deke did the same by selling daisy to save his people. Yoyo did the same with ruby and so on.... Hard choices but one had to be chosen. Mack wants to think of the world as black and white but it’s just not realistic. He is right tho that shield should try to live by some kind of code and killing shouldn’t be the first option. But until he’s in that situation he can’t tell someone what they should have done. It gets complicated.
