Netero’s technique is so rooted in gratitude and prayer, and refined to such a perfected level, that when he performs it observers see images of divinity. A boddhisatva is someone who achieved enlightenment and can escape/ transcend the cycle of suffering and rebirth but chooses to stay and work to ease the suffering and work towards the enlightenment of all beings. Netero’s techniques look like static hand positions of classical boddhisatva statues. It’s like being struck down by heaven.

Instead of having characters (who have no reason to explain things explain things) the narrator steps in. These are guys that move faster than sound but with the narration you can slow everything down and focus on every move, every decision, every character motivation. “The countless dragons raining down were less significant threats...than the two humans in the sky” gives me chills every time. His delivery is impeccable. I also love love love that Pitou uses her restriction to keep her in the fight. It’s like you using a negative ability in a video game in a way that is not intended for your advantage.
