The puma joke is a reference to Rooster Teeth's other show Red vs Blue

Matt Ragusa

"You shouldn't make a promise you can't keep" Tucson promises he has every book under the sun, but when that promise is examined he is missing some. Tucson promises to support the white fang, but when that promise is examined he has two packed bags and a ticket out of Vale. There was no book, it was verbal foreplay to murdering the man for trying to get out from under Torchwick

Wouldn’t she be asking about the book and the fact that he’s claiming not to carry it imply that there’s something else being hidden that the book would have helped them learn or find? It’s that something I assume Wolverine knew they were after and therefore leading him to know who they were. Which is likely why he didn’t have the book, so they couldn’t just get that info. But I take it that he was hiding the book and that’s why they were going to fight him and that’s why they asked if he was going to fight back. This means he was someone that needed to be taken care of for Roman. Supposedly. But Cinder didn’t want them to get involved even if they thought they were helping. She probably just wants to make Roman do a better job rather than cleaning up his messes. I’ve never seen the show. That’s my deduction.

Michael Diaz

Who’s going to tell them? 🤣

MsBelladona

The specific book titles are interesting in hindsight, as Emerald had some clever wordplay in her choices. And so I suspect that "The Third Crusade", was genuinely a book that didn't exist, but the title choice was another reference Emerald was dropping. Either that, or the idea ties to some kind of internal White Fang thing, like the "waves" of feminism, where each one is conceptually asking for more rights. So like, The First Crusade was for freedom (which they won, sorta), the second for equality (which they lost, sorta), and the third one being debated internally for a more aggressive goal. Just spitballing ideas. Theorycrafting is my drug of choice.

Guys Pyrrha is pronounced like “Peer-ah” not “Pie-rah” just FYI

Vince92

Rana is horribly wrong about Emerald and Mercury killing the dude over a book...the said exactly the motivation. It's like Mikey was the only person watching.

Prodigal Sun

It was also a good way to have team RWBY and team JNPR go head to head without any life-threatening stakes.

Megan Saunders

Only about 10 times per episode, especially on youtube.

SaviorOfNirn

Has anyone told them about the fairytale inspirations yet?

Fighting Wombat

Best food fight ever.

Michael Combs

They imbued the food with their aura just like they do with their weapons. It's why they were durable.

Ashley Palmer

Rana is always right . y’all did see Mercury and Emerald at the end of s1 finale after credits lol And Monty Oum does voice Ren for s1-2 . His brother Neath Oum takes over after his death. RIP MONTY!

DAki

Man you're straining for that. I'm straining for the entirety of these next two seasons

FryLord

man your username and this comment...like....it couldn't be more perfect

FryLord

Blake wasn't drawing kingdom hearts she drawing her old partner Adam who we see in Blake's trailer and also about the book question it was just a front and if you listen to the end of the episode they explain why they went there in the first place.

Blake

Yeah the book questions was a front. Just to get to the point of oh you don’t have every book under the sun that’s a lie, a false promise. That’s the same of you not keeping your word to be in the white fang, in their cause.

Punktlig

"I wonder if the show will get more serious" 0_0

Emanuel Lopez

YES! That would be awesome! There are some real bangers in the OSTs that are only hinted at in the show. Knowing how much The Normies enjoy music (including the RWBY score) I think they would really love jamming out to the OST.

Tina L

This is one of my favorite episodes to rewatch. During the food fight, each character uses a food that resembles their actual weapons (ex: Yang with the Turkey Gauntlets, Weiss using a swordfish rapier, Pyrrha throwing a baguette spear, Nora launching soda grenades).

Chai Tea

Do a soundtrack reaction!!!

Tessa Nyx

also make sure you guys are paying attention to things like aura and semblances. as of now nothing you have seen is magic. as you unlock your aura (like nen) you then unlock your specific power. Ruby - speed, Wiess - Glyphs, Pyrrha - polarity, Blake - Shadow, Glynda - telekinesis (all you should know so far)

bnmamz

I love the food fight in this episode! It's goofy fun and a great way to show off all the flashy improvements to the animation as you guys noticed. I don't think it was mentioned that I heard, but you'll also quickly notice that the whole background characters just being silhouettes is no longer a thing. Everyone is fully animated from here on.

xsithspawnx

What you guys missed there is the book Emerald and Mercury were looking to buy was just a front. Tucsun the bookstore owner was an officer in the white fang, which is currently working for Cinder and roman. he was attempting to abandon the white fang and flee the city. Cinder instructed Roman to kill him before he could flee, but emerald and mercury beat him to it.

bnmamz

Yeah, they’re still at the casual innocent watcher phase.......man the theories for RWBY nowadays remind me of Game of Thrones theories

Edwin Ayala

As much as I love their reactions to RWBY I couldn't help but be a bit disappointed that they were so stuck on the logistics of the food fight that they failed to realize that each character was using the food equivalent of their weapons. It's one of the funniest bits in RWBY to me. And a really fun way to start off Volume Two. I think RWBY might be one of the few series that need someone in the room who has seen the series before in order to help the rest keep all the lore straight and make sure they don't get stuck on aspects that aren't as important as they might think. BUT I also hate how much of my gatekeeping tendencies are rearing up with this series. I am fully aware that they are entitled to watching the series in their own way. Just because I have a longer experience with RWBY than them doesn't mean I know better. Really looking forward to the rest of the Volume's reactions! Happy Friday guys!

Tina L

They killed the guy because, like Emerald openly said, he was a White Fang member who was going to defect and run away to Vacuo. Won’t tell you what Vacuo is, watch WoR if you wanna learn.

Edwin Ayala

Also, World of Remnant 1-7.....watch that before Vol 3....won’t stop saying it till you do it.

Edwin Ayala

*strains* one........weeeeek........o..o..one week....till....FAVORITE...CHARACTER!!!!

Edwin Ayala

Me: Listen’s to their speculation Also me: *smiles in forbidden knowledge*

Edwin Ayala

Also they killed Tungsten because he was trying to abandon the White Fang

Zen Reacts

So this episode is a fan favorite and defiantely an animation flex. As for the reason the food doesnt explode while they use it is they can channel their aura through their weapons making them super tough

Zen Reacts

Just got my new RWBY hat in the mail today. A couple weeks ago I hadn't watched an episode. Now I'm all caught up and LOVE the show and can't wait for more! Looking forward to each and every reaction to come.😁
