From what I know, the real Gowther was a very powerful demon magician that even the Demon King was afraid of and (correct me if I'm wrong) that is why the Demon King imprisoned him after he gave him the Commandment of Selflessness because he might become a threat to him. He was imprisoned for 500 years. He worked as the Commandment through the doll Gowther. Even the Demon King and the Ten Commandments don't know that the doll Gowther was even the real Gowther. Manipulating minds and shits is really a scary thing and that is why when people are ranking the Seven Deadly Sins, Gowther is a character that you cannot be ranked. He seems like an Arcane character (with reference to Black Clover lol).

I love the real Gowther because he is the perfect counter-argument to the goddess's racism, he's a demon and yet he is more kind and caring than most of the goddesses. Despite all the destruction the demons did, it was a demon who ultimately saved the world from apocalyptic war and ushered in thousands of years of peace.

Yes, yes it is.!!! <3 When I first watched it I was all about Elizabeth and Meliodas romance, but once they showed Ban and Elaine's love story and she came back in the second season I was all for their story. There is another couple that I love as well, but I'm not going to spoil that since they haven't explained that in the anime.

the animation was horrible, that is a fact, but it's true the story and the lore make up for all of it. since I read the manga before all of this came out I just imagined the manga while watching it. lol

yeah, it was really disappointing when this season was released how the animation turned out. They went with another animation studio and it was just bad, every time I see the episodes I read the manga just to make up for the poor animation.

Also, the story is great for S3 and a LOT more lore to be told but there is a serious animation drop-off after this arc, it seriously feels like the budget just got slashed and doesn't do the manga justice.
