The death note is it's own proof. It physically has the rules written on it. Once you have that you prove it the same way L did. test on a death row inmate, or the terminally ill, or just anyone willing. Also it's the whole world that has to judge him, not one country.

At first we may think Light is paranoid about somoene entering his room but let's not forget he's holding a death note there and even risking setting everythin on fire just to hide it so I found his tricks to see if somoene just entered his room acceptable.

Also, Nahid, buddy, you're forgetting two major issues when talking about Kira being caught... first, anyone who touches the Deathnote can see Ryuuk. That's kinda hard proof in it's power, isn't it? Once Ryuuk is visible, do you think he'll hide it? He'd probably straight up tell the police, freely give information the same way he does to Light. And second, Ryuuk already said that when Light's time comes, he'd write Light's name in his own notebook. This means, if it looks like Light has lost, if it's over, then Light will never see trial. Ryuuk would kill Light and take the Deathnote back to the Shinigami Realm.

This show dumbs down every other character to make Light appear to be smarter than what he truly is. Lol be prepared for Light to make even more mistakes, and not get checked on it by the task force. Light is smart. But he is incredibly childish, and enjoys his dick measuring contests.
