2020-12-30 23:59:07 +0000 UTCI forgot to talk about Beadie Russel and her motivations for become a police. I can’t think of any TV cop like her. She is not someone who was drawn to becoming a police, for her it really is just a means for putting food in her kids mouths. She is an anomaly in cop shows, every cop on TV had that burning desire to be a police. Not Beadie tho she was just trying to get by in her life and sort of stumbled into it, such an interesting take and one I had never even considered before the Wire.

But i can’t help but defend the characterization of him. Every time I rewatch season 2 my appreciation of the character grows. He’s an annoying goofus dirtbag, but the way he is written and acted is completely on point. Really missing Micky’s wrap up’s, hope they come back.

Stringers biggest limitation is his inability to think outside of the box, which I think the cell phone discussion exemplifies perfectly

Gonna be honest, I think you guys are leaning a little too hard toward Stringer over Avon, and no spoilers here but long-term I'm interested to see if that changes. Stringer's not as smart as he thinks he is - as we saw last episode with him dumping the cellphone stock. In this show, people who try to grow and change don't often get any easier a break than those who understand and are content with what they are.
