i find it redundant as for most cases you need the sharingan before you get the rinnegan unless you surgically implant them.

If we're talking real life the Sharingan or Byakugan are much more helpful. I have no desires for overthrowing a country or being a caped crusader so Rinnegan abilities wouldn't do me all that good there mostly combat related. I could use Sharingan to learn the guitar in a day, or use Byakugan to find lost treasure in the ocean. I got no desire to kick ass, so why choose Rinnegan ?

Byakugan and Rinnegan are both extremely powerful...but with set abilities. Sharingan's key abilities all offer an insane variety and room for creativity even in base. It's the jack of all trades of the 3, and that's best for a shinobi I feel.

I've always been a neji fan being able to see almost 360 degrees is insane however if you obtain sharingan you can practically be OP with the Mangekyo sharingan

Rinnegan. Power over life and death, can make things out of nothing(lasers missiles etc, snatch souls, control GRAVITY, take control of peoples bodies. the list goes on and on. you can revive people. Literally the only downside is if you try to revive someone while low on chakra you die which is an easy fix. only revive when youre in top condition problem solved. Also you can summon giant monsters to do your bidding
