[Premium Access] Better Call Saul - 4x5 Quite the Ride - Group Reaction

Technically, Jimmy displays many behaviors that qualifies him as a sociopath. High risk seeking, lack of accountability, manipulative, irresponsible, very impulsive, restless, (intermittent) lack of remorse.

Alexis Cardarella

If you watch the opening of Granite State in Breaking Bad, Saul is wearing the exact same shirt and has the exact same suitcases.

Nick

cause the other guy talked about the tunnel, so he'll talk about the lab. "he should stick with it" great advice

Luis Vazquez

The flash forward at the beginning shows the end of Saul’s career where the end of the episode shows the beginning of his career . He tells the PPD once he’s a lawyer , he’s going to have a bigger office , be better than ever with Kim by his side.

Eddie

If you substitute hustling/sleaziness for any other kind of addiction - meth! even - you can understand Jimmy's behavior. He went out to sell the phones after sitting with his own thoughts for like 20 seconds. He can't stand to think about Chuck, or face any of his pain, and he uses these actions to distract himself. It's his coping mechanism

As an engineer I really love this story about the superlab. And I love Werner.

Jarrod Wild

They filmed the flash-forward during Better Call Saul, but used actual film cameras to keep it consistent with Breaking Bad (which was all shot on film, while BCS is shot on digital).

Samuel Mooney

Can't wait til you guys get to season 5

He used Howard to offload everything in one little sentence , "I guess it's your cross to bear". He doesn't care what Howard is going through. And then when Howard shows that he is looking and feeling like shit in spite of seeing a therapist, Jimmy says "screw it" to therapy.

Jarrod Wild

That might be part of it, but the bigger point is that he was too cavalier about the nature of the job and the effort involved. He came in with his high tech toys and had 100% confidence on a delivery date that was outlandish. Gus dumped him when it was clear the guy was just interested in getting paid and not in doing a proper job.

Jarrod Wild

The first guy didn't get the job mainly because he proved he couldn't keep a secret. He told them about the tunnel and even gave them a specific location.

Adam Vialpando

Flash forward, take a look at what he was grabbing out of the walls. That box, what's in it? Where have you seen it before? First scene of season 1 episode 1 he had that box in his house when he was watching his better call saul commercials and had the band-aid kit that him and Marco took from Chuck's house in a flashback to get coins to do their scheme. It's connecting a few plot lines but you can see why that box was important to him, had passports and bunch of stuff in it but also his commercials, to remind him of who he was. It's also just a cool treat to see what happened between Walt leaving his office and him going to the disappearer and meeting walt in that safe house.

Dylan

I’ll be honest, I’m just waiting for episode 8.

I think Jimmy is so unconnected and feels so little about his brothers passing, he just doesn't see or understand what Howard is going through.
