He hated/feared how Pitou and Youpi seemed to be more autonomous and seemed to believe that their evolving individuality was a threat. For example, their decision making in regards to how they serve the King, and their differing ideas of what it meant to serve him came across as a threat to Pouf, the prime example being how Pitou believed that keeping Komugi alive was best for the King while Pouf believed the exact opposite for the same reason. What's interesting tho is how Pouf doesn't seem to realize that he's contradicting himself, because the more he started to think and plan on his own, the more he played into what he hated in the others guards. What the King wants should be what's best for the King, but instead he lies to the King for what's really his own agenda, to have the King to himself in the end. It really hit home when the King says "If you lie to me you betray me", cuz I'm sure Pouf thinks he's the most loyal one. The development in this ant that was literally just born is crazy xD
