[Premium Access] The Haunting Of Hill House - 1x6 Two Storms - Group Reaction

This one kind of hurts my head but is also my fav episode of the season ... so far!

[Premium Access] The Haunting Of Hill House - 1x6 Two Storms - Group Reaction

Comments

Rana: the statues (ghosts) moving around in the episodes are a nod to weeping angels (watch when Nell is "lost" running around the garden in a very similar pattern to her dance before her death). Also, if you look at how Nell is standing talking to her family about them not seeing her, she is standing with her head bent to the right (bent neck). The one-shots in this episode are PHENOMENAL and just the best; the way they merged the timelines past and present with the then and now is just amazing. As a parent, this episode destroyed me; Hugh (Dad) seeing his kids as kids, seeing Nell as a child dead, Buttons for her nickname and 2 being the 2 dead; just man, my emotions. I bawled so hard, even watching it with you guys on my 4th re-watch those scenes still hurt so bad. Also, fun fact; when Theo is monologing and goes to sit on the couch arm, then misses and hits the floor? That's a genuine opps that she went with in order to not have a re-take from the start nor stop the scene just excellent acting all the way around and they should all have all the awards for this series. Glad you guys are getting into it beyond the scary factor and more into the heartbreak of mental health's effect on family, how parents try to protect their kids by selective disclosure, and the psychological aftermath of trauma's effects on not only one's own life but also our relationships with others.

In the full length Suraj mentions the Mr. Robot episode as being a full one shot, but it actually had 31 cuts in it. None of the one shots in this episode used any stitching. 51 of the episodes 53 minutes were actually five continuous shots.

Sammy

In the real world Steve would be absolutely right. Unfortunately for him he's in a world where ghosts are real and we as the audience know it. He gets way too much hate for what is a good and rational explanation.

Sammy

the "people" in the house might not hurt them but nobody thought about the house

Matis

Do you mean the mom did it?I don t remember.

Prodan Daryus

the mom called Nelle buttons. Also if you pick up in another scene in upcoming episodes, you'll realize who pushed nelle's coffin

izzy

I love how this episode was filmed.

Charlotte

yes she was. at some point Shirley mentions that she didn't expect a 'pussy parade'.

Otoniel Duran

When does the Uncut video unlock for premium patreons?

Jay

Trash

Jose

Everybody already knows he’s not one to take serious he’s just there you know ? Kinda like a fly on the wall 🤷‍♂️💨

Jose

Was Theo established as a lesbian? (I may have missed that). I personally never assume someone is gay just because I know they've had a same sex partner.. they could just as easily be bisexual/pansexual/however they choose to identify.

Chelsea

same

lol wasn't there literally a disclaimer in the beginning about Pat? I think we can excuse him this week folks. Let's take it easy lol

Manu

Yes Marketa! Everyone is too wrapped up in their own shit to help eachother. Good call on Nell too. While most horror movies focus on running away from the evil, in this show the running away has been this family's downfall. Also, Steve has so completely convinced himself it's mental illness that he could think he himself is mentally ill in seeing Nell. And yes you're totally right that yelling at your potentially schizophrenic father isn't a great move lol, but Steve has asked for answers about his mother his whole life, his father has continually denied him, now he's lost his baby sister - he's drunk, he's grieving and his resentment towards his Father bubbles over.

I don't really trust Pat as a reactor now. In the beginning he looks bored af, and talks about how slow and boring this episode is. This episode was the best one in terms of storyline and filming, and he's bored? Then at the end he says, "yeah i liked it the story was good." Umm, you were asleep most of the time and even left some of the time. How would you know if the story was good?

Teri M

God damn suraj you really had to drain the pipes huh

you should watch the bts of his ep! also all the hidden ghost compilation. There was so many one shots but the first one when for a super long time.

Y’all could’ve edited this man Pat out, I ain’t need see this drunk man sleep with his feet all up in the camera 😂

Blackest Hippy

One of the most masterful episodes of television ever - the one shots created such tension, as it sweeps you're constantly tense for something in the background. Perfection ❤ Also, I love the fact that Mickey and Cori are possibly watching off camera, hope they're enjoying it!

bits

I sprung for premium access just for this video.

ScarlettMi

Pat is my spirit animal

drunk out of his mind lmfao

Tim Xi

Close the door man!

Jarrod Wild

There are some subtle things that happen like the statues changing position to watch Olivia as she walks down the hall. Netflix has a great behind the scenes video for this episode because of the huge challenge it was to shoot.

Jarrod Wild

this episode always makes me cry :(

Elena Adams

Suraj, that was the loudest piss in the world 😂

LUCY C.

Such great film-making with that one shot

GenAntilles

He gave up halfway, was literally sleeping lol

Corey

I'm sorry, wtf was Pat doing?

Eli van Aggelen

As scared as Pat gets im glad that he still atleast makes an effort to the best of his abilities to pay attention the rest of the time lmao edit* this was the perfect episode to make this comment before watching the whole video 😂😂😂😂 this fucking guy lmao

MOB12

David Zavala
