May waking up at the end is a good stinger. She woke up from her sleep prematurely, without the crew, in a plane that doesn't look recognizable to her, of course she's gonna have a lot of questions. May hasn't seen Enoch since the time they were in the future. No wonder she looks freaked out.

I get why Fitz is not around because of other projects but he is my favorite character and it kinda kills the season for me especially knowing that this is the last season and he probably wont be around for most the season.

FitzSimmons being seperated may be old but the writers are doing what they got to do with what they are dealt. Iain had other projects planned because the crew didn't even know if they'd get picked up or not

you were joking but iain really did choose to not return as a series regular. he did a few other projects for the bbc instead and is listed as just recurring this season, i think. ALSO does anyone else think those vials are super solider serum?? didn't hydra have them first and everyone continuously refer to it as "the future" during the first avenger?? WHY AM I THE ONLY ONE INTERESTED IN THESE VIALS!! i'm into this season so far! i miss my favorite character fitz but i love this show and the people on it so much that it really doesn't take away my enjoyment of it because everyone is just so lovable. this is the first show that has lasted this long where my love for it has never wavered and i'm so glad, after fighting abc for so many years, that they ACTUALLY are allowing them to have a Final Season. i know the original story was wrapped in s5, but these last two seasons have been like nice little bonuses and this season especially is gonna be so fun with the time travel, i can't wait! also yeah, i really hope mack gets to knock some racist out at some point. the man deserves it!!

They continuously separate Fitzsimmons because Iain has been working on other projects at the start of each season. I’m surprised they’re able to keep coming up with reasonable reasons why fitz is absent. It’s a little upsetting but I get it, Fitz is my favorite character and Iain is a brilliant actor so I hope I get to see him for as much as I can this season!

I'm interested in seeing the show's depiction of a pre-Nazi but still modern-ish Hydra. We've seen way past Hydra, WW2 Hydra and present Hydra but not that in-between phase.

I think the writers are going to make Syrah eat his words about Fitzsimmons just like they did last season. I feel like whatever they do with them is going to be hell rewarding even if someone is tired of them being separated

As much as it's annoying, there were real world reasons for the Fitzsimmons separations. Iain was still filming the movie Overlord when S5 started filming. They thought it was their last season, so were forced by their own S5 finale into a "Hunt for Fitz" storyline at the start of S6. Then, Iain was filming the BBC movie "Us" during S7. I'm just impressed the writers continually find such believable, interesting, and contextual ways to explain his absences. Without them we wouldn't have his episode with Hunter or that great Fitzsimmons mind prison episode. Is the trope old? Yes. But, I'm excited to see what they do with it this one last time.

If you guys remember back to the season 3 Malik flashback episode, we were introduced to Gideon and his brother right after their father's funeral and when they go to see Whitehall in prison her tells them of how their father rigged the ceremony in order to never be sacrificed to the monolith to Maveth. Interesting knowledge to now view the younger version of this character with.
