Also, there are 10 spots of the Akatsuki, 10 fingers. One ring on each finger. Orochimaru DID take his ring with him (we saw it in his evil lair, he was the right pinky finger). So 9 members. Tobi taking Sasori's place. So, Zetsu, Itachi, Kisame, Tobi, and Deidara are the members we currently know about at this time. Though all of them have spoken, I believe, during the skype call.

The "Rescue Kazekage" Arc is one of the best - in large part thanks to Chiyo. Kishimoto managed to make us care about a tertiary character who was there for about 20 episodes. That's some HxH-level stuff imo.
