I assume what happened was the rose being a nuclear bomb, meaning it gives off tons of radiation. Youpi, Pouf and Mereum were all hit by tons of it being in the centre of the impact. Think Chernobyl but in the this world.

Bro I'm tired of people shitting on reactors for "not getting" something that WILL LITERALLY BE ADDRESSED in the coming episodes. Fucking nobody understands every subtext. or interprets every event perfectly their first time watching something. The movies are really "eh..." they aren't cannon and don't have Togashi doing the writing, though the first one does use his original idea for the Yorknew Arc. The manga is phenomenal though, and the current arc is shaping up to be the best yet. It might not be the best for reacting to, but I definitely recommend you guys read it on your own time if you're up for it. No spoilers, but it gets back to a lot of things you guys think got left behind along the show's progression. Big developments.

Tbh, I'm not sure about that, I don't think humanity will ever unite. I think we could, for a briefwhile, but humanity is too individualistic for unity. We would use an alien invasion to get rid of other nations. It's depressing.
