That's because Steins Gate isn't a shounen and non-shounen is going to lose in the polls most of the time when paired against the best shounen of the current/previous season. There's also recency bias to consider as well. The next anime poll is of course going to have Mob Psycho and likely Tower of God as well. It also doesn't help that people can see the voter numbers for each choice on each poll leading to people bandwagon on another show because they don't think a certain show has a chance of winning. But hey, at least Blind Wave reacted to it.

I think this is a good change. To be honest I don't watch most of the Reaction Requests because they're for shows I don't care about. It's a nice idea in theory but it's so much work for videos which probably don't get much views - community voting on new shows or an extremely expensive reaction request option (like 1000USD+) might be best, however much offsets loss of views and engagement

I just realized that given how deceptive Season 1 is to the overall arc, you may very well be correct. The overarching story arcs take a while to reveal themselves. But I do hope and wish they'd have the patience to let that unfold.

I would *dearly* love to hear your reflections upon how you discover in retrospect what the format, setting, budget, use of cgi, writing style, staging, conflicts with the studio, and work environment did to impact longform TV storytelling in the 22 years since it aired. Seriously. If I were a millionaire, I would finance you for it because I think your various and diverse perspective both in terms of your sharp intelligence, knowledge of the TV genre and milieu, and your interpersonal dynamic of snark and teasing would serve very well for a full review of all 5 seasons of Babylon 5, some of the more eventful convention reunion content, the short-lived short tales, and the made-for-TV films. Especially in terms of the fact that this entire series was guided by (and mostly written by) one of the writers of MCU's Thor (the first one, he cameoed as one of the dudes who tried to pick up the hammer in the desert), as well as JMS' lack of shame or hubris in allowing himself to share how he has been affected and inspired by authors and storytellers before him.
