[Premium Access] Better Call Saul 5x1 - Magic Man (Group Reaction)

Hello guys!

We're very sorry about not posting this sooner, yet again. Missing our full team is really taking a toll on these posts:(

I don't watch the show so I am not really sure what to write here but I do hope this was a baller intro to season 5!

Why are you skipping Season 4, episode 8. 9 and 10?

Joshua (Paper Dragon)

Those black and white openings to the season are one long scene, they pick up right after the one from last season and continue.

CJ

Pats right. Guerilla marketing. Respect the hustle. Don't hate the player hate the game.

Mike B

why does dude where his headphones like that?

Mike B

But Saul wore a toupee. So we really don’t know when this is happening. It could even be happening during the time that Walt was in NH and Jesse was captured by the Nazis. Or it could be years later. We just don’t know.

Ryan Roach

El Camino takes place right after the events of the last episode of Breaking Bad. The future events with Saul in Nebraska I believe is years after that. He looks a lot older and more bald lol.

Angelica

I didn’t know people were debating this. Of course he’s a nefarious guy. He tracked Saul down for god sake, after seeing him in the cab.

Ryan Roach

I honestly think that guy in the cold open is up to something more than just being a "fan". I'm thinking he was sent to find Saul or he accidentally discovered who he was and wants to blackmail him. it's the only thing that makes sense to me because you're right: it doesn't make sense to me that anyone would be that aggressive about recognizing a local celebrity like that. also, not sure if you noticed but he's the taxi driver from the cold open last season.

Nikki Sonrisa

Really? I think he had it coming. There’s no way they could ever trust him again.

Ryan Roach

thank you guys for your hard work. hope these are still as fun for you as they are for us! this season of BCS is fantastic and you guys are in for "quite a ride".

John Mendell

Gus was constructing a story because he needed to fool Lalo. Mike knew that he had discovered enough about the secret superlab project that Gus needed something to explain it away.

And I don't understand why Werner's murder is being argued as something to shrug off. It's like writing off the things Walter does in season 5 as "welp, he's in the business." Obviously Werner made a mistake and was not meant for that kind of life, but fuck Mike and Gus for his death.

Shadoe Price

Gus was not trying to fool Lalo. He was constructing a story for the cartel to believe. All of season 3 Hector was going against the cartel's interests because he wanted to be seen as more powerful than Gus, and literally had a stroke because he was so pissed when the cartel said that everything would move through Gus's business. Now a family member has come over the border, immediately began spying on Gus with no reason other than his uncle hates the man, and murdered a dude and caused a ton of chaos. Gus doesn't look like the red flag here, Lalo does, so all Gus has to do is create a story to give to the cartel first so that Lalo looks like he just another paranoid Salamanca.

Shadoe Price

Imagine a villian SO GOOD that he steals scenes from gustavo frings... lalo is a monster

Jjj.
