[Premium Access] Hunter x Hunter - Episode 135 This Person x And x This Moment - Reaction

Sooo good to be back!! and back to a BEAUTIFUL EPISODE MY GWAAAD! The king embraces his humanity in one of the most unexpected ending to an arc I have ever seen.  This show is in a league of its own and in my honest opinion Meruem is one of the best complex villain/who knows? i have seen in anime.  I wish I got more of him.  Well we are almost at the end my friends and its bittersweet.  What a ride huh? Hope you enjoy this one!

PS:  I recorded myself watching 134 as an uncut. I will add it with all the other anime uncuts i have missed over the past two weeks.

[Premium Access] Hunter x Hunter - Episode 135 This Person x And x This Moment - Reaction

Comments

You know what I find tragic? This episode always brings me to tears as it is. But Pitou, the royal guard who protected Komugi the most, literally risking and ultimately giving up her life for both her sake and the King's. Was the only one who never learned his true name.

This is my absolute favorite episode! Also, I've been wanting to say this for literal months, but... RANA CALLED IT! :D the moment she guessed Komugi and Meruem would die in each others arms I was like YESSS

spacewitch

In the end... all beings seek to love. I like the twist this arc put on the concept of ultimate power. Nothing is so simple.

Man This Episode Wrecks Everyone, Love watching all reactions to this episode, as if we all expreinced the same moment together lol, its crazy, cant wait to see the next surprise, wink wink...

Ricardo Obregon

I personally don't have HxH as one of my top favorite anime but the Chimera Ant Arc is definitely in my top 3 arcs of any anime. It is soooo good! I cry every time I see this episode.

Omar

I would kill to see how the 1999 series would've adapted this arc

Max

It ends on 148

Freddie marcano

The antagonist became way more human in the end than the protagonist who turned into a monster

what is your 1st one?

Black Knight

Its been almost two years since you guys started reacting to this and i have been waiting ever since for you to get to this moment. Definitely worth the wait.

He was born a Ant and he dies a Man.

Pedro

how a little blind girl saved humanity

The second saddest episode of all the anime I’ve watched for sure.

Greg Blackmore

Remember in the end of episode 102? When we see Komugi first appear to play Gungi with Meruem and you just see Meruem glaring down on her? Than the narrator says "The King has no idea how this is girl is about to influence his fate." Little did we know how powerful that moment really was until we saw this episode and in my opinion that's the most powerful statement in the entire show. Every time I see that ending I get goosebumps which led up all to this.

This is not my post! Credits to Allblue on Youtube comments on another channel that watched this work! Is just so marvelous put that I had to share!

Chronicler

If anyone wants to know of the hidden messages in this arc, it'll make their story even more beautiful ^ ^Kokoriko is an advanced Gungi technique developed by Komugi that centers around isolating the King (as in the Gungi piece, not the Chimera Ant), separating it from the other pieces and killing it off. Just like Netero and the Hunters were planning to do to Meruem. However, Komugi unexpectedly develops a counter to this technique in the middle of a game, meaning that the King piece (representing Meruem) no longer has to die (since he unexpectedly survived the nuke). Then, later on, when Komugi uses Kokoriko again, she actually develops a counter to the counter ("she reversed my reversal???"), representing that the King piece (Meruem) apparently actually does have to die after all (because of the Rose's poison). However, immediately after beating Meruem using Kokoriko (symbolizing his imminent death), Komugi and Meruem start one final game together, a game that they never finish. 1-5-1 Black King -> 9-5-1 White Lieutenant General, I believe, or something to that extent. Immediately afterwards, they die together, leaving on the board Meruem's one black piece and Komugi's single white piece, together in Gungi forever. This represents that the two were always united through Gungi, and will continue to be together even after death, undisturbed and united for all eternity. Meruem places his piece down, symbolizing his death, and then Komugi responds by placing her piece down next to his, showing that she is perfectly willing to die at his side..The black screen/black panels in the manga show that the Rose's poison has made Meruem go blind. That's why he has to keep asking Komugi if she's still there, because he can't see her anymore. This is ironic because his name means "the light that illuminates/shines upon all". He even got some godlike light-related photon-based powers before his death, allowing him to fulfill his name. In addition, as they are playing in the bunker before their deaths, Meruem sees a blinding light radiating from Komugi as she "reverses his reversal", making her "the light that illuminates even the all-powerful light".Despite being far weaker (and blind to boot), her light shined far brighter than his. Then, as he dies, Komugi holds him and feels his head, allowing her to finally "see" or know what his face is like. Thus, as they die, Meruem joins Komugi in blindness as she joins him in death. Meruem can finally see what Komugi has been seeing all along, and knows what it feels like to be blind like her, and Komugi finally knows his face, allowing each to understand the other more as they fade away (the OST used during their death scene is called "Understanding"). Touching, isn't it? Togashi is a mastermind, and this entire story, especially this arc, is a masterpiece, a beautiful work of art, a canvas depicting love, hatred, innocence, corruption, happiness, suffering, loyalty, betrayal, anger, sadness, life, death, malevolence, destruction, resolve, determination, avarice, sacrifice, "true" power, truth, and understanding.

Chronicler

I got MAD goosebumps and respect when the King legit said, he was unworthy of their loyality from his 3 royal guards. Fucking Powerful

Thanks fam...made me tingle with this one - Nahid

The Normies

Nahid is literally the best. I love how you understand intricacies that are hard to spot in your first viewing so the others can also understand. For example, about the radiation thing. I love the cozy 4 but nahid has been my fav since ATLA. Glad to have you back ❤️

such a good episode world domination arc ends with a love story and its not even sudden because togashi is building that up little by little since the introduction of Komugi. That Meruem likes Komugi is also very good writing because she throws him off several times not only by beating him everytime in gungi but also that she is not afraid of him or afraid of dying at all, and to top it off she can make a wish from Meruem that he would have granted. She could have wished for everything and would have probably got her wish granted but she wishes to know his name which is not only humble but also the only thing the King doesn't have an answer for at this moment in time

Pucki

And had to have a training arc in between yorknew and chimara ant

zim

That's a lot of greed island hate..idk why. It was a good arc. Razor fight and taking out genthru was awesome.

Sam h

I mean true but that's alot of anime. 1 day came be like 30 episodes sometimes or more

I cry every time. Can't be doing this at work. lol

botanbutton

I have been waiting for this reaction for so, SO long. EVer since you began your HxH reactions, this was what I wanted to see more than anything else. I don't need anything else now.

olof

one of the best arcs bro , one of the best

Keenan Cummins

Micky: Maan, greed island sucked. LMAO <3

Александър Илиев

Narrator is the MVP man. Embrace it

Alejandro Gil

Oh man. That’s dope thought

Zee

Although this arc had some very great moments, i just hated the way everything was told by the narrator all the time. It was very weird to me when they suddenly chose to do a whole arc that way.

Rasmus Kjær Poulsen

This episode raised an interesting question for me. Could Ikalgo take control of Meruem's corpse and become one of the most powerful characters in the show? Or would the radiation kill him too quickly for that to even be an option?

Chris V

this show (and meruem) is so well written it´s actually crazy... the king went from being so powerfull that he was arrogant and thinking that he was put in this world to destroy humanity and rule everything, to being ALL MIGHTY but humble, loving, and believing to be put in this world to spend time with the person he loved most. Also, as you guys said, in a world of NEN, crazy super human abilities and shit, it was ultimately the power of evil human advancement what kills the "threat". Such insane/genius writing...

Jjj.

Im sharing this next reaction - Nahid

The Normies

The villian from the Greed island arc is called Genthru, His blowing up ability is called "little flower" and is a refrence to the Nuke used on Meruem. He is believed to one of the survivors from the city that got nuked by terrorist, shortly mentioned by the narrator. :):)

Hængeklumpen

I'm sure they noticed as well, it's just that this is the edited version so that can't fit all the details in. I'd say to check out the uncut if you wanna see the parts that were cut from this post.

Mikestrike

this ending has so many details im sure people will point out in the comments. One of them is that meruem, in his final moments, was blind just like Komugi. Thats why he was asking if she was still there. She “sees” him for the fist time when she touches his face(she never touched him) and he “sees” her through his en particle. Thats when we’re allowed to see their last moment

Jocta96

I think she handled it better than some reactors lol

Lyric Laude

The evolution of Meruem using one phrase. 1). I will not repeat myself -lashes out in anger 2) I shall not repeat myself (Repeats himself) 3. I shall not repeat myself (Repeats himself multiple times) 4) I shall repeat myself. Okay time to cry now

Alejandro Gil

I will wake up shortly....Will you stay by my side until i wake.... - Meruem

The Normies
