To be fair, the show never hyped up Canute in the least. The fanbase did lol. I also remember a recent reaction where Canute was introduced , and Micky got all hyped up for Canute was going to do to Thorkell (and company) for no reason. I'm going to assume it wasn't the fanbase in that particular instance because he said "the show hyped up Canute."

Where as in a shounen, the story typically revolves around a lot of action, in seinen the action may simply be a means to an end. What you guys refer to as "build up" is character development and world building. I know you guys are aware of that already, but I think some of you(Pat) would enjoy the show a lot more if you viewed those interactions as the primary focus of the show and not simply as a prelude to the next fight. However, there is a lot more action coming in the rest of this season.
