Diyoza sacrificed her life for her daughter. Not to save her life. It was to save her soul. Diyoza knows what it does to you when you mass murder people. Diyoza didn't want that for Hope. Diyoza wanted Hope to be better.

That's like saying Aang could've redirected the lightning from his body when Azula hit him or Roku could've airbent the poisonous gas from his lungs while he was dying form it. You're neither invincible nor omniscient when in the Avatar state. She was in no condition to step back and remove a poison she knew nothing about when she was hallucinating and hulking out to protect herself past lives or not.

To Suraj, saying that Korra was just as strong without the past Avatars: If she was still connected to the past Avatars, she would've took the poison out immediately after she broke out of those chains. With all that knowledge, there is no way she would've kept trying to fight with it inside of her. After that, she would've destroyed Zaheer. And don't forget.. older Aang was able to break out of Yakone's blood bending, when he went into the Avatar state. Knowledge is power.

Very fitting death for such an incredible character. I hated it on first instinct because i love the addition to the cast so much. But then i thought about it more.

Could people please stop talking about future episodes and what they think of it? Let them form their own opinions. You are prefacing their expectations and that in itself is borderline spoiler territory. You are ruining it for the people who want to see their uninfluenced genuine reaction.

Aman, I’m officially done with the series and I will never watch another episode again or recommend this show to anyone. The writing has ruined what I once loved.

This was one of my favorite shows of all time but after that one episode (you know which one) I'm done, I will not even finish the rest of the season.

It's kind of fitting Diyoza was a terrorist and she died essentially preventing a terrorist attack and saving her daughters soul.
