[Premium Access] The Wire - 1x2 The Detail - Group Reaction + Uncut

McNulty digs a bit into Dee while Daniels has to deal with his officers' misbehavior in Season 1 Episode 2 of The Wire. Stick around to the end for Micky's thoughts as well!

[Premium Access] The Wire - 1x2 The Detail - Group Reaction + Uncut

I am so glad that you are doing this. This is in my top 3 of all-time, and it is criminally under-watched. Although, it should be called “The System”, because that is what it is really about.

TAINTED MEAT!

Chris V

Its Bob from the walking dead! :D i think there are 3 or 4 cast members from the wire that are also in the walking dead.

Please, PLEASE, stop talking over dialogue. This show doesn't hold your hand and expects you to be paying attention.

Joe

I love this show, happy you guys are going to enjoy this amazing show.. its up there to me with breaking bad

Joshua

Amazing you guys are finally watching this, always thought it was sadly too old for a big channel (or indeed anyone) to check out. Incredibly excited for this ride!

Miles Curtis Watson

please keep the Mickey commentaries coming! they add so much to the reaction; he points out so many things that I never noticed on first watch myself.

Nikki Sonrisa

I love Mickey's overview after the video

Have you read David Simon's expose on the Baltimore drug trade he wrote when he was a writer for the Baltimore Sun? It's fantastic and clearly the blueprint for the show. For those that haven't read it I highly suggest it, just google Easy Money-Anatomy Of A Drug Empire, it can be read online or downloaded in PDF format. I also love that they had a few real life inspirations appear in the show as other characters.

Micky out here spittin'...

Prodigal Sun

Oh, by the way most of these anecdotes in the story are adaptation or direct retellings of things that actually happened in Baltimore.

Prodigal Sun

Cops can and do lie during questioning.

Prodigal Sun

I hope the Micky analysis continues. Nice capper to these.

Jarrod Wild

He's called Suraj the Talker for a reason. lol

Johnny Blue

If nothing else, i hope the rest of the Normies are watching his discussions at the end of these vids. They're extremely informative.

Kamina 1

Suraj's nonstop commentary is very distracting for such a dialog heavy, detail rich show. Its no wonder he can't get the names straight as he talks over so much of the show.

Micky- The people on the streets know why the witness got killed. But the reason people like Burrell and Rawls don’t want the press getting wind of it is because then the general public would know. Nobody cares what the people living in the projects know or don’t know. But when the press get it, then the people in the suburbs know, the politicians start using that info to take shots at the department which makes Burrell and Rawls look bad. Also, I don’t feel you have to shorten your recap, I’ve enjoyed your analyses so far and we all know this show offers up a lot of talking points as it goes on. P.S Suraj sure does know an awful lot about making crack pipes.

Ryan

seriously...Suraj needs to stop talking all the time.

SN: Interesting to mention that background music isn't used generically to add suspense or emotion like every other series on television. Instead The Wire primarily uses pieces of music that emanate from a source within the scene. Like a jukebox or car radio or gun shots in the distance. Also much of the cast, and people you will see on this show are legitimate Baltimore citizens. David Simon's attention to detail is second to none.

It makes me so freaking happy to see you guys finally reacting to The Wire. I never thought these would ever come. My favorite series (more than any tv show, anime, etc), and my favorite reaction channel. These normies reactions will hold a special place in my heart for a long time to come well after completion.

Kamina 1

is mickey gonna join them on the couch in the future? i feel like him and chris can clear a lot of things up for them if they miss stuff, kinda like how they missed at the start the bunk saying "no wife, no kids" about the witness, only to spin the story to D about how he was a family man, 3 kids, all that stuff. great show, and i disagree with the people who say it's a "slow starter", we get a lot of useful info in season 1, and rewatching it now i can tell how great some character arcs developed over the seasons. cheers

kivu_king

Highlight of my Tuesday lol can't wait to watch this later

Ruben Lopez

Omar's coming! Omar's coming! So excited for next episode.
