This is my absolute favorite anime movie (closely followed by I want to eat your pancreas, Castle in the Sky and A Silent Voice)! And whatever movies might come along in the future it will forever have a special place in my heart, because it thought me how got it can feel just to let yourself be carried away and cry! I'm telling you, I bawled more than Mitsuha when Taki finally turned around in the end😭😭

What if we all have these sorts of dreams of that one person we are supposed to meet but we just can't remember?

A Silent Voice is much more introspective and the story is grounded in reality, where as Your Name is a fun adventure in the land of emotions with gorgeous animation. Story, A Silent Voice wins. Visuals, Your Name wins. Characters, A Silent Voice wins. Plot, Your Name wins.

The best part was dealing with translators because they kept talking about the "juicy-ness" of the skin and I couldn't help but think they meant another word, but I've kept the term with me to this day.

"Weathering With You" is also good since you've seen "Your Name", and just as visually stunning! And if you want a fun, nostalgic throwback, try "Digimon: The Movie" from 2000. The English dub! It's a combination of three Digimon movies, that they made into one film for American audiences (I know, it sounds crazy haha). It is still hands down one of my favorites. Don't need to remember the plot of the show at all. Funny as hell and you'll like the music!

Which are both also great standalone films that you should see at some point... But the one that's just as good... that I hardly ever see mentioned is The Anthem of the Heart. It's another beautiful, emotional, really moving one. And because I know the others are going to get so much more love... Anthem of the Heart has to be my top pick!

This director (Makuto Shinkai) is amazing and I started watching his works. They are absolutely beautiful, story wise and animation wise. 'A Garden of words' - is the peak of animation in my opinion. And Weathering with you is by this same director and takes place in the same universe as Your Name

Still a fan favorite cult. I'm so glad you guys watched it.. the non-linear storytelling and the prettiest of animations really made this a favorite of mine. And i would suggest you guys definitely go for A Silent Voice next..

I personally like A silent Voice> Weathering with you> your name but all goated. also i want to eat your pancreas was also a great movie. all sub of course imo ive heard their dubs and none of the emotional scenes hit me at all in the dub
