Weiss wasn't mad Blake was Faunus so much as she was mad she was white fang because of how the White Fang kept hassling her company/making her father angry. For Sun, he doesn't really need character development when his whole purpose, currently, is to help Blake overcome her issues because she needs to know friends will be there for you even when you don't want them to be. He's a stagnant character because that's what Blake needs right now. She needs acceptance and stability in this moment and he's a loyal friend willing to give her that and be a bright spot in this otherwise dark time of her life where she was feeling super down on herself.

She was also prejudice against faunus in general like when she kept calling them untrustworthy and filthy after Sun stowed away on the ship and they were chasing him. She said faunus can't be trusted. And they knew Blake was a faunus because Blake told them when she said "We were tired of being pushed around". Penny only made them realize the obvious cat ears Blake hid beneath her bow.

Was Weiss mad that Blake was a faunus? I think she was mad that Blake was White Fang, they didn't learn she was a faunus until Penny told her.
As for Sun...he's a pretty simple guy, most of his character development was in season 2-4. No one knows yet, but there may be more in season 9

one thing I think you're a little off the mark on is Illia. I don't think think it was implying that she knows, or even cares at all about how Adam feels or treats Blake. Just that Blake had affection for him that she wanted directed towards herself.
Totally agree on the writing for Weis and her arc thus far. Something I didn't consider until this discussion was how well placed her arc is. In S1-2 she is the entitled ignorant rich kid who can't even grasp their own ignorance. she had her lessons there plus all the events of S3 to kinda drive her closer to her team and break down her original shell. Come into S4 she gets ripped away from that new dynamic she was getting used to and reintegrated with her "family" when she has a new understanding of what that word really means to her, allowing her basically see and weigh the two. Bringing her to what we've seen here today.

Something to keep in mind, Ilia's motivations are not centered around Blake. In 5x3, Ilia stated that her parents died in a dust mine. In Blake's short, she also recited a story about a dust mine collaspe. We can assume the reason she lost it after that is because of her parent's death. So her motivations are centered more around that. Wanting Blake's affection is more of a side thing that didn't help her 'you can't always get what you want' mentality.

Yes, Blake’s father Ghira alludes to Bagheera, the black panther from the jungle book. Great reaction, love the dialogue in this episode & character development 😊
