I don't know, perhaps due to people's low expectations about female characters in shonen is what causing the mangaka to write shitty female characters. I'm glad JJK is a giant exception to this.

2021-09-26 01:25:30 +0000 UTCIt didn’t even register with me, the first time I watched, that the hereditary clan techniques is also another borrowed element from prior shounen anime. Tho I think if power is inherited it’s just an easier way to fill out world narratives. So not trashing, just making a remark. Also Micky, what other anime you referring to about the writing of women? Not sure what your anime library is looking like now but if you’re looking for fully developed female characters sticking to shounen anime will not help your search

2021-09-23 23:37:15 +0000 UTC"Why is she calling her little sister if they're twins?" Maybe because one of them was born before the other? ^^

2021-09-09 03:06:35 +0000 UTCThe twins are goated in the manga, nuff said. Also I freaking adore these female characters. Nobaras line about loving herself no matter what is straight fire

2021-09-08 09:47:10 +0000 UTCHey guys I live in Japan and to put it simply: SAN: show respect to someone older; CHAN: intimate relationship (usually on female); KUN: being polite towards someone younger (on male); TAN: girlie version of CHAN

2021-09-07 05:25:53 +0000 UTCI could be wrong, but i think Dono is an "older" term. I never really see it used in anime set in modern day, but i see it all the time in anime set in the Sengoku period with Samurai and such. I think Dono is more like "my lord/master" (which is a term not really used in modern day in nearly any language lol) whereas Sama is "boss" basically. I'd guess butlers and such probably still use Dono in modern day.

2021-09-07 01:36:43 +0000 UTC-tan,-chan,-san etc. are honorifics. Many Asian countries use them. The closest thing that we have here in the U.S. is calling someone Mr/Mrs with their last name. That's more formal than using first name. We also use Dr., Professor., Sir etc. We just put it in front of the name while Japan has it at the end.

2021-09-07 00:34:56 +0000 UTCA small thing that they don't really talk about is that Mai never wanted to be a jujustu sorcerer and was more so forced into it because maki left, she lacks everything a jujustu sorcerer needs to be powerful and even her ability would be better suited in making things like jewelry or fine metals allowing her to live quite happily.

2021-09-07 00:11:42 +0000 UTCHow did I not realize until now that Maki is basically the Rock Lee of this series???

2021-09-06 22:54:07 +0000 UTCYeah this show definitely changed my standards on written female characters in anime 😅 it’s kind of sad looking back at other animes and seeing women watered down to the basic tropes and a lot of people are okay with it

2021-09-06 20:33:14 +0000 UTCSan is gender neutral and the default suffix in most settings. Chan is a diminutive form to convey endearment, usually used to address children (similar to the -y suffix in English like Johnny, Sammy, Charlie, etc). For example in Naruto, Ma and Pa call Naruto and Jiraiya, Naruto-chan and Jiraiya-chan in the Japanese version. These get translated to Naruto-boy and Jiraiya-boy in dub.

2021-09-06 18:47:36 +0000 UTCSo... The thing with pace in jujutso or others animes nowadays is because they dont need to do 300 epi for a year. Anime Studios now can really plan and make only one Season per year, so now they know how mucth of the manga they need to adapt and dont need to put fillers in It and etc, cause with One years waiting the author has ALL the time they need to make the manga.

2021-09-06 18:37:10 +0000 UTCIt's common belief (mainly in Korea and Japan) that late-night ramen leads to face bloating/puffiness the next morning.

2021-09-06 17:45:26 +0000 UTCI think San means likes Mr. or Mrs and Chan is for younger kids. I think there is one for boy and girl as well.

2021-09-06 17:16:37 +0000 UTCThe Japanese Honorifics are some equivalent to Mr. Ms. Dr, kind of... 1.San is a polite way to call anyone of equal respect and is used often, 2. Sama is referred to a boss in a polite way while Dono is the same thing but I hardly see it used as much as Sama 3. Kun referring to younger males but also a superior talking to a inferior 4.Chan used for girls children, close friends, or somebody finds a person or something adorable and cute. You don’t want to use it with a superior 5. Senpai is equal to senior while Kohai is equal to junior...and I think I missed some 🤷 that's the best details I know
