This episode was freaking insane to write and storyboard.. I had a plan of doing 3 scenes for this episode, Scene 1 is Cherie and Chohan's convo, Scene 2 is Cherie and Crush's confrontation, Scene 3 is Crush waking up after, but I decided to merge the first 2 scenes together while Cherie's confronting Crush, which is a BITCH to storyboard btw because, in the middle of Chohan's spiel, he started telling stories about Colie, which lead to ANOTHER flashback.. so it was a flashback within a flashback 💀I had to do like 3 drafts of the script and 2 drafts of the storyboard just to get it right, hopefully it's legible enough..
After last episode, everyone knew there's a 15 minute gap between Cherie bumping into Chohan and them going back to the suite, and I left that part empty because of this very reason! I wanted to incorporate that 15 minute convo into this episode, to show how Chohan is STILL haunting Cherie and Crush even after they're home. And because scene 1 and scene 2 are condensed, when you finally get to scene 3, it's like you can breathe again because of how suffocating the overlapped dialogues were.
This episode is the official midpoint of season 3 and that's why I really wanted to stick the landing! Most people don't like the midpoint of a story but I LOVE THIS SHIT SDKJFNSDKJNA If anything the midpoint of the story is just as important as the climax to me, because a GOOD midpoint needs to achieve 3 things, raise the stakes, empower the villain, and have the protagonist go through a major revelation, and this episode achieved all 3, so I'm kind of happy about it 😭😭😭 This might be my favorite episode I've done in season 3 yet, and I hope it was as enjoyable to read as it was enjoyable to write.. even though storyboarding this beat my fucking ass.
Also funny extra trivias for this episode for anyone who likes my yaps:
- Chohan leaving it off with "you look like you need some peace and quiet" last episode just to go and yap (giving him no quiet) and provoke (giving him no peace) in this episode.
- The episode title is "Push, push, push" (On webtoon next week) which refers to the 3 scenes, Chohan pushing Cherie to ask Crush in scene 1, Cherie pushing Crush to tell the truth in scene 2, and Cherie pushing ... a poo in scene 3.
- The twist about Cherie's leaving was one of my earliest ideas since season 1 and I finally get to draw it .. 2 years later 😭 this is a huge moment for me ok..
- Season 3 was originally gonna be 2 seasons but it wasn't long enough to warrant me taking a break in between, so I decided to merge the last 2 seasons into one BIG final season.So this episode would technically be the finale to season 3 if I had kept the original plan!
Anywaysss, sorry for the mega yap this time omfg i just had to walk u through my vision... getting to the midpoint of the last season is a huge deal okay.. i hope everyone enjoys this and as always I apologize if anything is lacking 🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️
