Don't Know How to Improve Your Art? Join Our 30-Min Challenge!

Hey everyone!

For those worried about not knowing how to improve your skills, the straightforward answer is 'habits'. Small steps you take daily can bring great improvements in the long run. But if you lack motivation, feel alone, or just don't know what to do, I'm here to help. I daily share four topics, and you will have 30 minutes to submit a quick sketch in our Discord channel.

Today's Topics are:

I personally reward you with Skill Points, which are not just a way to measure your progress, but also, the artist with the most skill points at the end of the month can have a 1-hour chat with me. We can address concerns, provide feedback, and work on ways to optimize your portfolio or just find a direction. Sometimes we are lost and overwhelmed, but this is one of the most efficient ways you can address this issue. I know that because it was one of the first things I did when learning digital art: one simple sketch daily for over a year.

If you care to know more about this, you can subscribe to any tier and join us on Discord! Enjoy the process video of my 30-minute submission for today. I was close to not finishing before the 30 minutes were up.

Have a great week, and thanks for sticking around.

I got it,Thank you for your explanation!

Sure, I often use selective color to adjust blacks, neutrals, and white tones. This is in order to merge palettes towards cold or warm tones. For instance, I like to select the blacks and move the 'Cyan' bar a bit to the right to turn shadows towards blue (a cold tone). Also, sometimes I adjust the other colors in search of saturation. Another reason for these filter adjustments is that I often use very desaturated tones during the process because I get distracted by too much information in relation to color, and sometimes can't pinpoint what bothers me. So, once I feel comfortable with my work with lines, shapes, values, and desaturated colors, I use the adjustments to bring some saturation or vibrancy to the current desaturated colors I've chosen during the process. Does this make sense?

Great artwork, I love the quick application of colors. √ However, I wanted to ask why Ramon made adjustments to the CMYK hues after finishing the reflections and highlights. Besides that, are there any other steps (adjustments in PS) that I don't quite understand what they are for?
