As we saw this episode, Geuse wasn't slothful at all; he was constantly helping the village in Elior Forest and caring for Emilia. Even after he went crazy, he always did the most he could for the witch. However, the witch factor that he possessed was the Sloth Witch Factor. Because he wasn't slothful, the witch factor was incompatible with him. The witch factor being incompatible with him caused him literal tremendous pain. Remember whenever he used to bite his fingers in S1? That was so he could be distracted from the pain caused by the incompatible witch factor. Anyways, another commenter already mentioned, but Satella couldn't be Emilia's mom because they're both half-elves. Moreoever, the witches (including Satella) roamed the world 400 years ago, meanwhile Emilia was born 100 years ago (approximately).
