The Question Post (March/April 2020)
Added 2020-03-17 01:50:17 +0000 UTCWhoops, I forgot to open this at the start of the month. Let's say this one runs until mid-April, then, and I'll post answers before May.
Just like last time, post your questions as comments to this thread, or send them to me via the Direct Message function of Patreon (if you prefer to be anonymous). Answers will be a separate entry than this one that will be public for everyone to see. That entry will be shorter than 32 answers this time!
Here are some quick guidelines for types of questions I'm definitely not going to answer:
- Questions that ask for spoilers for things that haven't happened in the comic yet ("When is X going to happen?" or "What's the deal with Y?")
- Questions that ask about personal information ("Where do you live?" or "What's your mother's maiden name?")
- Questions that are belligerent, aggressive, or demanding that I must answer them.
- Questions that are more of a comment (A long essay on something followed by, "What do you think?")
I will probably also circle back to see if there are any questions left from last time I want to answer, but also feel free to re-ask anything I skipped (although if I skipped it on purpose, asking again won't make me more likely to answer). If you want to ask follow-ups to something I said in the last batch of answers, you can do that, too.
Thanks!

Just wanted to give you an opportunity to save me from losing my mind by telling me that neither the runes on Vaarsuvius's robes, nor the runes on the walls of Old Blind Pete's safe room, are in any way cryptograms or other codes containing a hidden message. I've gotten as far as "they probably aren't a simple substitution cipher", and I've noticed that the pattern on the walls of Old Blind Pete's safe room repeats. But it seems as if the runes on Vaarsuvius's robes could conceivably be written in an alphasyllabary -- frankly they remind me of Ge'ez.

2020-05-13 14:43:24 +0000 UTCThis might be a "future OotS story spoiler" question, given that he may well appear again, but if he doesn't: Does the guy with the sword, shield, and big shoulder pads from Tarquin's adventuring team have a name? If so, can you tell us what it is? If not, would you be willing to make one up on the spot so we can fill in the blank on the Class and Level Geekery thread?
