2022-01-11 22:50:54 +0000 UTCI'm pretty sure the game that JPC was thinking of is called Dragon Power. It was for the NES. Brought over in 88 before Dragon Ball really found its footing in the USA.
2021-12-22 07:29:30 +0000 UTCMy "inappropriate for my age" media was finding my dad's very '70s porn comic... It was just sitting in the lounge room bookshelf, mind you. I think I was in grade 4, so about... 9 years old, maybe? And my first gaming experiences (multiple, I can't separate them out) were when I was really little. Like toddler or so. I'd sit on dad's lap and "help" him play Might and Magic, and watched my older sister play Loom and Monkey Island. I had a few games I played myself, like KidPix and SimAnt. And there was another, Someone Or Other's Haunted House or something like that. It was just a really cartoony pseudo-spooky game for kids, but it got some glitch that reversed all the colours and warped the sound. Freaked me out so much I never played it again.

2021-12-16 15:11:35 +0000 UTCLol I was listening to this while riding a horse Also my own "inappropriate viewing for a child story" was mum let me watch Day of the Triffids when I was 4. At school we were told to write an Easter story, everyone wrote and drew about bunnies and shit but I wrote "the plants moved. They scared people" I had some very concerned teachers haha

2021-12-13 02:51:22 +0000 UTCAs someone who just had to use all their PTO to take yet another vacation in South Dakota (going home for the holidays). There was a point in this episode where I just started screaming and then blacked out.

2021-12-12 20:21:13 +0000 UTCWe had just a random pine tree in our living room last year for that very same reason. Sometimes it was decorated by a white and gray fluff ball laying on one of the middle branches.

2021-12-12 07:59:17 +0000 UTCif you like drunk history and art history i’m on a podcast called Art Farts where we poorly teach wild art stories in layman’s terms- we don’t drink before but with how idiotic we are we might as well have!
2021-12-12 01:38:40 +0000 UTCI've seen where dog owners in apartments have built sod areas on balconies for their puppers. I'm a cat person 100% because I've never had somewhere that I thought was enough space for a dog. That said, my 3 new kittens have decided we're not decorating their pine tree in the house this year.
