I watched my mom get treated like an an idiot for her southern accent my entire childhood. I know there are a lot more important issues but things like this keep kids in the south insecure about their speech and keeps them feeling like outsiders to the rest of the country. We aren't cartoon people.

2021-08-14 19:00:06 +0000 UTCBianca Lawson is one of the most typecast actors. She’s been playing sidekick to main character in high school drama series for over 30 years?

2020-09-09 06:59:09 +0000 UTCMy husband and I took my 13 year old cousin (and fellow Agatha Christie fan) to see this, and it was so delightful. My favorite detail was just how perfect the costumes were *chef’s kiss*

2020-09-08 15:54:56 +0000 UTCHoly shit that movie was amazing. I wasn't expecting to cry as much as I did, but I couldn't help myself every time Marta was in trouble. Just... wow.

2020-09-08 05:48:45 +0000 UTCAs much as I loved Daniel Craig's accent and how much fun he was clearly having doing it, it being present in a murder mystery did have me on edge the whole time waiting for the twist that it was a fake accent because he was pulling an Agatha Christie and he wasn't the real inspector.
