2024-07-27 15:07:22 +0000 UTCi couldn’t stop thinking about how I have some Extremely Specific Bats Knowledge about Hingham Massachusetts - it turns out one of the largest roosts of our native little brown bats (which were hit rlly hard by white nose disease) have been chillin in the old bunkers at Wompatuck State Park in Hingham :) this is, to be clear, very good news; bats eat SO MANY mosquitoes a night and little brown bats are really cute :) idk how much of this is public info I just i work w the department of conservation and recreation but if anyone is in the area im pretty sure there’s bat programs coming to the park in like a month and the guy who works there is lovely :)
