From Adal:
At the top of July Jemma and I were in LA and went to Disneyland; my first trip there since I was 6. I mostly remember Mr. Toad's Wild Ride where you’re sent to hell for being amphibious or something? Was very impressed with the Rise of the Resistance ride and how immersive it was. Other highlights included whatever the Cars racetrack ride is, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway and the rontoless wrap served at one of the Star Wars cafes. I despise rollercoasters but overall still had a fantastic time…except I did almost throw up after the Guardians of the Galaxy tower ride. While in LA we also hit up the Magic Castle and enjoyed an escape room called The Ministry of Peculiarities.
We just got back from our first trip to Vancouver (to see Tim Minchin) and had a blast, save for a black bear strutting out of the woods 15 feet in front of us during a hike. My butthole is still slightly clenched from the encounter.
Next week we’re off to Japan to revisit some favorite spots and finally explore Kyoto and Osaka. This time we’re bringing a suitcase purely for Kit-Kats.
Here’s what I consumed in July. Let me know if you’ve enjoyed anything recently that I should check out!
TV:
Big Brother season 26
Cobra Kai season 6
Kite Man: Hell Yeah
Girls5Eva season 2
Movies:
Twisters (4DX)
Deadpool & Wolverine
Amish Affair
Road House (2024)
Other Stuffs:
Jemma and I got into the Olympics a bit more than we typically do. Mostly the mens and women’s gymnastics events and basketball. Is there always this much hubbub about penises?
Saw the new Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil musical in Chicago and am confident that J. Harrison Ghee will win the tony for it after it premieres in NYC.
Got to see Alanis Morrisette in Milwaukee and she absolutely rocks live
Played The Cat Mitt Game. It’s ridiculous fun with even just 2 people but would be excited to try it with the max limit of 6. Here’s a little taste of how it’s played
The world premiere of my sister’s play, The Cave, will be running at Red Orchid Theater early next year; January 23rd to March 9th! I’m unbelievably proud of her and can’t wait to see it on stage!

From JPC:
Hey Riddiots,
JPC here. In lieu of a traditional update, I'm attaching a sketch I wrote in 2011 for a Christmas themed sketch show.
Have a great day.

2024-08-07 13:20:23 +0000 UTCOh and Girls5Eva is a phenomenal show. Paula Pell is unconscionably funny.

2024-08-07 13:01:24 +0000 UTCDeadpool & Wolverine was delightfully fan-servicey, which is exactly what it advertised itself to be. My meteorologist friend rented a whole-ass theater for a rowdy screening of Twisters, and something like fifty-plus people were there. It was excellent in that environment and Glen Powell is a freaking star. It's probably the first time in my life I've seen two new-release movies in theaters in consecutive days and it was an absolute blast.
