Other Stuffs:
I Recently guested on Sleeping With Celebrities podcast with Arnie & Matt
Lot’s of old favorites on rotation but a ‘new to me’ album I enjoyed is Black Country, New Road by Ants From Up There
Went to NYC for a weekend to see the new immersive show Life & Trust and really dug it. It’s by the same producers of Sleep No More and is equally impressive in size and scope
I’m currently reading Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver and so far it’s fantastic
My biggest rec for the month is Astro Bot, which I’m only a few hours into, but is already a game I can’t wait to replay

From Erin:
Hello!
I have a few things this month!
First of all I’ve gotten to go on a lot of fun podcasts this month. Here are some highlights-
Those Who Aunt- Colleen, Dana, and Brooke were the heavy hitters in Chicago when I first moved there. They continue to be three of the funniest people in the world and I laughed SO HARD when we recorded. It’s so surreal to perform with them and i think this show deserves an even bigger audience.

Rotating Heroes-I did Arc 12 and 13 of the show as the same character and I had a fantastic time. Jasper William Cartwright, Zac Oyama, and Jon Mackey are exceptionally funny in Arc 13 and I think it’s unmissable. There were so many miracle coincidences in this Arc and I’m just obsessed with the story telling

The Brett DeMott Show w/ Buddy
Speaking of Jon Mackey-I always have the best time on this show. If you like Hey Riddle Riddle I think you’d love adding this to your rotation. Check it out!

Doughboys-This is the first time people from home have cared about anything I’ve done. I had an awesome time and I hope we can have those two guys on HRR soon!

TV shows! This month is the first time I’ve been able to watch TV this year and there’s a lot of fun stuff.
English Teacher-I LOVE this. This feels like the first comedy that feels made for/by the wave of people I did comedy with in Chicago. It’s laugh out loud funny and has a lot of heart. I hope it has 1,000 seasons.
High Potential-if you like Kaitlin Olson or Psych you’ll really like this. I feel like this has big “comfort show” energy.
Agatha All Along-I think this is a little inconsistent but mostly so fun for the fall. Witchy vibes and Patti Lupone singing? I can’t complain.
Doctor Odyssey-This show is garbage and the tone of it is insane BUT if you’re like me and have a huge crush on Joshua Jackson you’re going to lose your mind. Just trust me.
Other stuff-
I started taking Vitamin D again and it’s making a huge difference. This is your sign to take your vitamins.
Tower 28 Dailey Rescue Facial Spray-I leave this by my bed and when I’m too depressed to wash my face in the morning/night I just use this and it works great.
Kenra Leave in mask-This is expensive but if you have blond hair it makes a huge difference. I use it twice a week and it helps my color so much.
Ok that’s if from me! Have a great October!

Comments
she plays Tiffany Key Largo in a couple earlier episode as well and absolutely kills it. JPC (episode was around march?) and Adal (they reposted his episode in august i think) are also hilarious as well

2024-10-03 02:10:14 +0000 UTCAdal might dig an album by Boards of Canada called The Campfire Headphase. Instrumental, low-fi, evocative downtempo electronic music. The Adal-specific recommendation is the album is a kind of soundtrack to how your state of mind shifts while spending time staring into a campfire. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_nwT_ryJ0N8-TmfqftIrZkcLGGiE_JMT7s There are more guitars on this album than their others, and fewer vocal samples. If you want a shorter introduction, the EP In a beautiful place out in the country is excellent. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_lbLq_i6F4coXuqc9lETOlMHhhcfSvCgSM

2024-10-03 00:59:46 +0000 UTCAdal: For horror movies, you GOTTA see The Substance. Not only is it some of the most fucked up body horror you’ll ever see, but it’s also very funny and great to see Demi Moore kicking so much ass. Not a horror movie, but Megalopolis is amazing (also very bad). It feels like a 2.5 hour HRR patreon long form improv. Aubrey Plaza’s character name is Wow Platinum for example.

2024-10-02 05:40:19 +0000 UTCI prefer Marvel over DC, but The Penguin is just superb (also enjoying Agatha All Along). I didn't expect it to grab my attention as much as it has. I can't wait to see where they go with the series.

2024-10-02 05:26:14 +0000 UTCI listened to the Brett Demott Show w/ Buddy for the first time bc I knew Erin was the little joyriding Target girl featured guest. Although I wasn't ready for the morning zoo crew vibe the hosts have going, Erin stole the show...like a 2020 Nissan Rogue.

2024-10-02 05:21:48 +0000 UTCI introduced my partner to The Descent over the weekend. She had never seen it, and she really liked it. I'll try to fit a bunch of horror movies in this month. I think Mama will be the next one we watch. It's one of my favorites. We enjoyed Talk to Me, Abigail, and Alien: Romulus. I would also suggest The Strain if anyone has time to watch a horror TV show. One last thing for horror, I've heard a lot of good things about Late Night with the Devil, so I'll be checking that out soon
