The Playfulness of Making Art

I think my body does not allow me to do any art that does not resonate with me anymore, and that is why I struggle to create art for the sake of doing art (something difficult to do if I plan to do it on a weekly basis) unless it has some meaning behind it.

Because art creation involves exploration, to make the art, one must "waste" time in the mess of the process, in the "not knowing what I am doing." This is something I hate when I am solving problems on a daily basis. I must have a direction, something clear and deep. Time is very important to me; every second is a second less I will have in this existence. I know it sounds dramatic, but that idea is so rooted in my mind that renouncing this principle to create something I cannot fully see, I believe, is causing damage to my process. I guess as I get older, the more value whatever I create must have, the better. I do not know.

So instead of moving forward with any form of art practice, today I put some thought into an idea that reflected the need for playfulness in the process, like someone building themselves back to recover that fun. I guess that is what today's poem, piece, or animation reflects.

In conclusion, sometimes, to be able to create, you must sacrifice something important. For me, it is time with no clear direction. What are you willing to sacrifice?

Let me know in the comments.
