Hi Trevor, your 5PFH episodes are so good I showed my wife and she got me the 5 Parsecs from Home hardcover copy for Christmas. With some Xmas money I just purchased a Core Space game to use the terrain and miniatures to setup my own game. You have been very inspirational, keep up the excellent work.

2023-01-01 03:15:48 +0000 UTCTrevor, Mike Pondsmith of Cyberpunk fame says to use index cards... and he's right, you can write a bullet point system to remember procedures, you can use a pen to write up a check list for supplies and use a pencil to mark the boxes for however many stem packs you've used. Index cards may take time to fill out, but I spend less time erasing information on character sheets because all items my players have are on individual sheets, with their weight limits in a highlighted square in a corner and the same color is used to highlight the weight of each item on each index card. Using colored pens I use one color for rules, one for active effects, one for items, one for monsters (check boxes for monster HP) two hours a week on index cards means you'll hardly ever have to reference a book in play. But I do enjoy it for the sake of the show! Also, using pens for the base object and pencil for the recording means you can reuse index cards until you absolutely need to make a new one, meaning you can rerun adventures several times with different group with very little prep.

Not sure if you're aware of this, but links don't work in Instagram captions - which is why people usually refer to "links in bio" and have a link tree there. No idea how that works though, not a content creator myself. 😅
