Post-show livestream?

Hello friends! I've been considering doing a post-show livestream after the episodes to talk to my d6 Supporter Patrons and get a bit of a chat going - answer questions, talk about developments in the show, swap ideas, all that stuff.

Buuuuuttttt.... I've never done anything like that before, and I would need to know if that was something worth doing for you guys.

I wanted to offer this first to my d6 Supporter Patrons, and if I can make it work, maybe open it up to other YouTube viewers a few days after the stream (gotta make sure you d6 Supporters get a little something special for your five bucks/euros/space credits).

Any interest in that? Lemme know, because I'll have to get my technology all set up correctly to do it (which, truth be told, confounds me when it comes to internet streaming), and try to figure out a time that works best for all of us. I was thinking of doing it right after an episode drops on Mondays at around 2 PM PST, but it doesn't have to be then.

I'd love your thoughts on this. Thanks for your continued support! Means a lot to me!

I think a chat session would be an interesting idea. Apart from anything else it'd just be nice to be able to say thank you in person. I don't suggest a live steam of what you are trying to do, until you have enough subscribers that you can pay a producer to handle the chat and tech while you do the creating.

I'm always up for more content even if I can't be there to watch the thing live. Also I see there's a discord server but the links mentioned above have expired. How do I get to this miraculous land?

I would agree that it might certainly be worth it to give it a try. However I'd also agree that it should be more like a pilot than anything. See how it flows or fits with the community. If it doesn't work out, then we try something else. I don't know if that makes much sense, but the last thing I'd want to see is any kind of forced participation or burnout for Trevor. I never thought that I'd be so interested in a one man show, but this program has such a charm and Trevor has a great charisma in doing it. I can not wait to see how this show grows. Also, if anyone in that discord can resend a link, it seems that the ones listed in this comment thread are expired and I would greatly enjoy jumping in there myself!

My recommendation, fail fast. I think you have one of the most kind community and what our are already doing is awesome. So after the show is a good idea. My preference is not too long but it's only my preference. Try and learn, it's easy.

Love the idea, I've definitely wanted to pick your brain on some things for a while. Livestreaming can be a bit of a pain, but I don't think it needs to be mega high production quality like your normal stuff. Matt Coleville's streams are pretty down to earth (especially the early ones) compared to his regular videos with lots of production.

I love the idea...timing might be an issue.... It starts getting a bit late in the evening on a work night for us uk& Europeans. I dare say *any* time picked will exclude somebody in the audience, of course.

Probably does not work for me due to timezone differences.

Ah, fantastic, thanks! I just joined up.

Isn't Twitch the go-to nowadays for doing these kind of streams? Viewers can comment (with text) etc. What I've understood it should be quite easy to setup, too.

I try to watch the show live, with over 70 others according to YT chat, and it is 11PM (last time was 10PM which was nice). Some kind of chat session would be nice to try, especially if it is somehow timed around the live.

@Aaron Seigo, there is a discord server: https://discord.gg/zFhdMQdp

Great idea, Trevor. Good luck wrangling the technology! I also vote for the after the show time-slot, but know this isn't the best for others (no solution is perfect).

Like the idea but "after the show" doesnt work for me personally. That's work hours, mountain time and then throw in having to watch the show before discussing. I think I agree with @terry herrin - maybe it needs to be a day or two after? Dont know how that works out for you though.

Brad S

This is a great idea! It would be better if you have it a day or two after the episode. That will give more people time to see the episode before the live stream.

Terry Herrin

I think having it the evening an episode premieres would be great!

SteelTheWarrior

Love it, can't wait to pick your brain after the next episode!

I think that would be a fantastic idea! Being directly after the episode seems the best way to do it as well since folks just finishing the episode will have a chance to ask questions and express their thoughts then and there, which will probably generate the best stuff. That’s said, I’m sure other times would work well too, depending on what the majority audience desires!

I'd totally be in for that, and post-show works for me. As for "a little something special", personally I already feel I get value for my money with your shows. Extras like a live stream would almost certainly help get more people through the turnstiles though :) Also, a Discord server for us to chat on between shows might be an idea? I follow a number of projects that way already and it seems pretty effective...

Aaron Seigo

I'd be keen. I'm in the UK, so that time would work for me. But as it is a one off, I'd consider staying up for it if you have it in the evening US time. Would love to be involved. Keep it up Trevor. Loving the show!

Garth Jones

I'm typically at work when the episodes drop, so I wouldn't be able to participate. However, I'd love to watch such a discussion and learn more about your process.
