Trying to learn HTML5
Added 2019-09-15 22:05:21 +0000 UTCSo, after being told for weeks by google that Flash is obsolete... I figured I'd better learn how to make games in HTML5 (meaning: javascript) Seemed easy enough at first. The syntax is similar but after a week all I've gotten to work is a blue square moving around and shooting some red squares... So that was depressing. It just reminded me of the years it took to build up my Flash skills originally. So, I have to do that all again, albeit faster this time...
In the meanwhile, Flash is still supported on Newgrounds (supposedly) and my games are downloadable so I worked more on the Chandra game. Got the man working. Even added a nice ass-slapping move! The biggest problem now is I originally coded it as a 'card' game where you play cards to cast creatures but cards REALLY don't work well when multiple creatures 'interact' with Chandra. So, I'll need to re-code that ~entirely~... Also, I'm already bored with Chandra. She wasn't even that powerful of a planeswalker. Might look at adding new faces as well. The good news is I re-looked at Sukhon and was surprised how much better the art and animation is in this Chandra game. Maybe I'll try converting Chandra into the next 'Sukhon' game. Don't quote me on it though.
Oh yeah, I'll upload another playable testing version of Chandra at the end of the month. I like the idea of an upload each month. It keeps me moving forward on the game.
