Save File Location
Added 2020-05-02 02:15:51 +0000 UTCHey, there! I finally found a 'somewhat' easy way to let players transfer their saves to the newest version. I spent days trying multiple ways to implement a player-controlled save feature INSIDE the game but Adobe Flash just ~damn~ won't let you do that... like, I mean D A M N won't let you... It's crazy the ways they blocked it. So finally, I just searched the save file by name and found a solution:
Search your computer for sfs32.sol
You should find more than one result since each version of the game saves in a different location.
The Newgrounds Online save location will end in ...\uploads.ungrounded.net\751000
The Downloaded version save location will end in ...\whereverYouUnzipedIt\streetwalker9f
If you are wondering what each file does:
com.Saves.32a.sol is the save file for the Slum Girl
com.Saves.32b.sol is the save file for the Pirate Girl
com.Saves.32aE.sol is the save file for the new Casual Mode style game
com.Saves.sfs32.sol is the MASTER save file that selects which of the above files file to load
flixel.sol is auto-generated and can be ignored
These save files should be interchangeable, meaning you can copy the online saves into your downloaded version and vice-versa. You can also just copy ONE file (for example: 32b.sol after you fail a pirate mission, if you're a perfectionist) Also, the downloaded version 0.8 and 0.9 should transfer to 1.0 no problem. Just make sure to backup any existing save files before trying! Also, you will likely need to actually play version 1.0 for your computer to create the save file location first.
But... where IS version 1.0? you might be asking... Good question! It is currently finished but I'm away for the weekend and can't upload the game until May, the 4th... So, watch some Star Wars... and check back then!
Version 1.0 has Casual Mode working, but also has Pregnancy added. I could NOT get X-ray vision to work. There were SO many problems. I'm pretty sure X-ray is dead... But, the pregnancy does work. Your woman has a 4 week cycle with an 80% chance of pregnancy by week 4. Each enemy-type can impregnate her and has different gestation times from 90~280 days. Each month, her belly will get larger, and finally she will give birth and can get pregnant again. You can have up to 4 children of each type, but they require food and can perish if your lifestyle is really bad (Diseased, drug-addict, living on the street, eating garbage... for example) or if you choose to 'terminate' the pregnancy at the doctor...
There is also a settings menu where you can turn OFF Diseases, Muggings, the Tutorial, and control some Pregnancy options as well. However, you won't get medals for disabled features of course.
So, check back later for version 1.0... and also on Newgrounds as well. Just back up your save files first!
