I know it will sound weird, but in Dune, there are the 'spice orgies' which are similar to the shamanic practices of sharing urine once they ingested the mushrooms since the active chemical does not metabolize. Furthermore, the Fremen were constantly doing this because they drank their urine through the use of stil-suits since they were saturated with the spice. They were living in the "Alam al-Khayal" the world of imagination! This is what was later illustrated by Leto's dissolution into many 'pearls' of prescience & closely similar to Danika's Q&A response to "what is life".
