Haha whoops. It's been a while for me.. I mixed them up because I personally find stilgar to be more attractive than Duncan. Thanks for distinguishing.

Hayte is Duncan Idaho's ghola, not Stilgar's. Stilgar is still alive.

I had a laugh at imagining the scene when Duncan (hayte) is fighting the programming in his head and is so confused by paul's actions in the following scene. i can't imagine that not being comical in a movie adaptation

I cannot remember which book it was from but I adored when Alia was able to kind of have an erotic fantasy while in the sword simulation room. And the erotic elements of her relationship to the ghola. Also love sensory narratives involving the planet kind of doing its natural thing.

The dune series has this high level of anxiety attached within all of its plot and characters. Every character has a pressing agenda in their mind, and with that awareness the tone of the novels is incredibly heavy and steadfast. Like everything is picking up speed heading for some chaotic car crash or a sudden shock of a finish. There are very few moments of bliss or peace... (rainbows after the storm) couod you share any moments the first novel or dune series has given you something to enjoy and feel calmness in, maybe even made you chuckle?

You are doing such a great job expanding our minds using the vehicle of Dune. We are all smarter now. I know nothing of The Watchman but can't wait for the next journey! Would you ever consider sharing a "What CBG19 is reading this month" type list via Patreon? Loving Metabarons by the way, would not have found that without DuneClub/Greater Creators. Thanks!!

Do you think there is more Christ/Biblical imagery in Dune or in Riddley Scott's Alien series? Also, (spoiler) just realized Paul's twins and passing during childbirth probably influenced the Luke/Leah story line.

Do you think there's a symbolic component to the Spice Agony ritual of the pagan Maiden, Mother, and Crone in the form of the Sayyadina candidates, Chani and Jessica, and Ramallo as the incumbent Sayyadina/Reverend Mother?
Then as Ramallo and Jessica link minds, Alia becomes the Maiden, especially as Ramallo dies Jessica becomes the Crone, Chani sees her future child in her arms and herself becoming the Mother (especially if her and Paul are conceiving that child that very night), and Alia becomes the Maiden to come.
The emphasis on Bene Gesserit's worship of the Great Mother and their witch associations are fascinating to me and makes me wonder if pagans and Wiccans were on the Orange Catholic council lol.
Go Team 19! (love your sunglasses btw)

Why haven't Paul's eyes changed yet? It seems like he has been exposed to a lot of spice.

Why did Jessica tell the fremen she was pegs with letos daughter once she knew what was about to happen if she loved her child and duke wouldn't she want to protect her at any possible dangerous moment?

No question, just a comment. I knew a shaolin monk that read Dune and said the Reverend Mother ceremony was his favorite part. Partly because he wanted to be able to control his body that much and partly because he wanted to be able to download his knowledge into someone else before he dies.

Its too bad even though most freeman know jessica was pregnant with aria that they still treat her like a witch becaue they cant understand how a child speaks like an adult

Really cool outfit tonight! My question is more a curiosity about the Count Fenring, who I really liked: do you think he is using his humming language all the time, also when talking to the Baron? Is he throwing shit at the Baron in the middle of the sentences? Or directing comments to Lady Fenring? Thanks :)

How does the sietch work? How does the architecture let the Fremen be without their hoods and nose plugs? You're doing a fantastic job, keep up the good work :)
