Movie News: Blade Runner 2049 and more...

I'm afraid I was disappointed. The world seemed less rich of cultural diversity and more misogynistic. A villain as complex as Roy Batty...who you kind of liked..was missing. SPOILERS! K should have been killed on the floor in Las Vegas. That was sloppy. The fight sequence in the sinking car was laboured and static. For me it had none of the insight of the first. Roy was teaching Deckard the value of life, however shitty it was. Rachael was throwaway. Just seemed like they needed to shoehorn her in somehow. Looked fab. Loved K. Guessing they chose that letter because of Phillip Kindred Dick. Love what you chaps are doing. I'm so sorry I disagree. :-(

HBO's Watchmen. will be lit

!!!Spoilers for 2049!!! I completely agree with you on the clothing. Since I was 16, I’ve been dressing as if I lived in the blade runner universe. XD But in all seriousness, this is the best movie I’ve seen all year. It really affected me in this weird wonderful visceral way. Every time they would cut to a new scene I’d gasp at how breathtakingly beautiful it was. And the way they introduced the tired ‘chosen one’ trope at the end of the first act only to later take it in a completely different direction was grade A filmmaking. Just because K isn’t this miracle doesn’t cheapen all of those revelations, emotions and human awakenings he had as a result of thinking he was. For him, those experiences are still real and mean something. And how despite it all he still takes Deckard all the way at the end...that really fucking got me...In terms of protagonists, K had become one of my favorites.

i love the movie, and also when home and watched Her again... but also re watched Soldier. CBG19 did you watch any of the 3 web movies that filled in some of what happened after the 1st blade runner?

I hope more people get out there and go see Blade Runner 2049. Another great show CBG19.

Great video. You should totally bother those involved in the upcoming Dune film until they give you a consulting role or cameo and you’ve got hours of Dune Club cred to link them to now.
