great movie theres no comparison to the justice league movie we went and saw it today....thor is still the movie of 2017...but star wars is out soon..till then..thor thor thor!!

Also, I loved how this movie was about becoming more than the role you have been cast in (and the role that you've always seen yourself in). I think that theme is so deeply embedded into this movie that it's dramatized by the very change in tone. It's like Marvel Studios is saying, "We don't have to do a Thor movie the way we've done them before! Our movies with superheroes don't have to be superhero movies!'

Thor: Ragnarok is totally about the U.S. today. Think of it. Asgard is built on vicious imperialist pillaging, stealing resources from conquered people. Then at one point, the power structure wants to focus more on governing than on conquest, and it covers up its bloodier past. However, the sins of the past cannot be covered up. To overcome them, you have to accept then and destroy your vision of what the country is. However, the wisdom that sees you through is that the country is not its lands or its material goods. The country is the people.

I saw it Sunday and loved it for all the reasons you mention (KIRBY!). But i also like the sync i got with the book i'm reading called Lucifer Princeps. Talking about how Lucifer is tied to the myth of the divine right of kingship and its usurpation. Thors journey to kingship was pretty effin' mythical if ya feel me! ;)

This movie defiantly felt like a Guardians movie to me. I liked the style, pacing and dialogue. I agree with Robot, Space Brain is throwing softball questions. We need Robot to ask the hard hitting questions like Mario Lopez to bring up the ratings with his rock hard buttons.
