Watchmen Box Doomsday Clock - A Live Blog

While ending the sale for Watchmen Box, I did an hour long rambling about Justice League, The Disaster Artist, Hentai, Disney buying Fox, TV Comic Book Shows, Los Angela, Patreon-con and more before our power on our phone cut out.

Here is the recording of the live broadcast. No longer available on YouTube.

Oh yeah. Off the hook. I love it when you get real and share. Fire it up Team 19! hallelujah! So cool.... BTW - super happy there will be an Watchmen Club merch bag I can order in addition to the box. I’m in Malawi while the book club is on and I’m only 10% confident my Watchmen Box will make it to me (lots of post office corruption here... the upside of which is that some Malawian may be introduced to your awesome show and to Alan Moore...) so I also bought Watchmen on Comixology so I can follow along with my droid - but I really, REALLY, want all that cool stuff you guys made - especially that bookmark and those stickers! I’ll have those delivered to a friend’s place back home. Ps you guys are rockin’ it.

can not wait for this i love watchmen and i know that will be my new favorite bookmark.. im curious to know yo thoughts on X men Grand design by Ed Piskor? I really dig his art i do not know how he will pull that story off tho that a lot to accomplish.

Looking forward to January to buy some sweet CBG19 Watchmen merch! I have the actual book already but count me in for Watchmen Club. Dune Club was a highlight of my summer :)

Why do people hate on you so bad on the collider channel? Too much hate out there... I’m glad you joined that episode tho, brought your opinions to the table accordingly, when they let you speak... Thanks for your content cbg! Half way thru dune club now, missed the box sale for it, but snagged the watchmen box and looking forward to many more boxes from you and T!!! 😎

FYI, there's always a delay (something around 10-15 seconds, may depend on the receiver's ISP) between the video and the chat. So, when you start recording "live", it will take 10-15 seconds before people see the stream and respond.

Wish i didn't miss the livestream

So sorry I missed this live, but...DAMN! This broadcast was LIT! I always love it when you talk for real! Not that you don't usually, but I mean when you talk about real, relevant stuff. The kinds of things on the peripherals of everyone's mind. Like net neutrality. Like social interactions. Like PORN! Yes, I think it's safe to say that we all, if we grew up with comics, have a bit of a perv within us. And there is nothing wrong with that. And honestly, hentai is arguably the safest form of porn there is. But I digress (I could literally write an entire blog post on this). So glad to hear your excited about The Disaster Artist! I've seen some early reviews, and they all pretty much unanimously say that it's really good, & a bit of a love-fest for the making of The Room (which is possibly my all-time FAVORITE 'Bad Movie.' And I'm with you on the whole X-Men: Dark Phoenix film. In fact, I actively encourage people to watch your X-Men: Epic History videos. Whenever I have company over, and the conversation (inevitably) turns to The X-Men, I put your videos on, in the background while we talk...and it NEVER fails; my company will turn to the screen and be like, "wait...what?!? That's so cool! Shhhh! Let's watch this!" So HUGE kudo's to you for making those amazing videos! As for the Marvel Netflix series... I'm a bit torn. Daredevil and Jessica Jones laid the foundation for what this TV version of the MCU should look like, and they were both brillant in almost every aspect. The following series, while not as horrible as most say they are (in my opinion) do fall quite short of hitting the mark. They all feel incredibly rushed. However, with the Punisher, I feel as though they have course corrected in a very positive way. I'll admit, it may not be a series for everyone. It's very dark and depressing, almost throughout the entirety of the series. And it features tons of VERY graphic violence. But it has two things in it that I never thought I would say in the same sentence as 'The Punisher'; it has heart and it has hope. As a Vet, I could totally identify with the PTSD themes that play throughout the series. But not just one example of it...various examples, including representing those who have come to terms with it, battle through it, and have gone on to live somewhat normal lives back home, those who struggle with it, and those who succumb to it. That aspect of it is really well done. And I'd also like to mention that they've tackled their villain issues by having not one main antagonist but 2 (3 if you count an ongoing subplot), with the final reveal of the end-game villain feeling like a knife in the back. And, also quite unexpectedly, it revolves around family, and to what lengths someone will go to avenge their dead loved ones, AND protect the loved ones they had to abandon from a similar fate. There are some surprisingly tender moments in it, that one would never expect to see in anything with Frank Castle's name in it. So I'd encourage you to give it a shot. Anyway...sweet baby Jesus, I've rambled on here! Great video! Really looking forward to Watchmen Club in February! Thanks for always being and remaining awesome! 😊🙏

Maverick Opinions

CBG, you can totally rock that 'do in Minneapolis, shoot for early October... ;)

Thanks for uploading this. I always miss your livestreams.

Have you played Life Is Strange? I’m playing Before the Storm right now and I love how nerdy everything is. It’s got totally intentional Twin Peaks vibes, and you play Dungeons & Dragons with your friends, and it’s a story about loss and relationships, which I like a lot more than cliched saving the world stuff. It’s such a cool change of pace from normal video games and I think you’d like it! Also thanks for pointing out how weird/PC the world has become. The left tries to be accepting of all sexualities and stuff, but sometimes I think it goes too far in policing what people can and can’t say about sex. It’s like they want us to live in this strange sexless vacuum. There can be room for both respect and sexuality in modern discourse, thank you very much!

One Punch Man is a great show! ... I mean the anime.
