Thank you for putting yourself out there for our entertainment and edification, Danika. I bet lots of artists wished they could do more than that. But you're one of the fortunate ones: you know yourself at the level where you can connect with other people. Most of us wander through life feeling like nothing we intend comes across in what we say and we can't connect what we hear to any meaning. There's nothing I in my lifetime could do or tell to reach as many people as you have. You get into the crucial reasons why hero's, anti-hero's nihilists and villains should matter to us, and it's not in your words, it's in how your words convey the effect of these stories and ideas on you. You put blood, brains and guts into your work and the results are extraordinary. But your earnest creation can't deliver people from evil. Neither the monumental evil of tyrants and brutes nor the everyday evil of people being shitty to one another, thinking 'I'm done giving, it's my turn.' One of the great things Chuck Palaniuk reckoned was that you have to be in a really shitty place create with force, like your life has to be like a dripping mess of an icecream cone in your hand for you to really aspire to new heights of expression. (In Diary, the protagonist did her best work while enduring cramps from food poisoning). I appreciate the courage you're showing taking the step of returning to streaming, when your personal life isn't sorted out. It's the most human thing you can do. love you, girl19.

When I got divorced, I went on antidepressants for, like, 3 years. Separation after long relationships is hard, and a long slow road to recovery. Having a network of people who will support, compassionately listen to you and not judge you is key. Particularly, people who have been through similar experiences, because they will have patience about the progress.
