The 'bottom half' of this thing is now on Twitter. Such as it is. halves. segments. whatever. Enjoy (or cringe) You were right so much sh*t pouring at you every day. Just pretend we're all kids. Oh wait that didn't require much pretending....
2020-04-30 04:21:52 +0000 UTCQuestion: Do you think the reason family and people who get close to each other, lovers and close friends, find it easier to push each others buttons and trigger emotions due to us feeling it's a "safe" way to practice these the counterbalance strategies? Do we all kinda like to practice our conflict techniques on those closest to us so we're better trained against external foes? Is this a bad thing or do you think it is good to practice and try and make our own minds tougher and more confident? :P

2020-04-29 23:24:47 +0000 UTCY'all still gonna do a Hereditary Midsommar review. Hot take, but I think Midsommar is a cross between Cannibal Holocaust and the Sound of Music. ๐

2020-04-29 19:35:52 +0000 UTCThe "Listening to the Left Hand" essay is in The Book Of Frank Herbert but not in the original 1973 version, it's in the 1981 and later editions.
2020-04-29 19:12:30 +0000 UTCNot a question but a statement so feel free to skip, as it kind of goes off the rails from War Club into economics. With chapter 3 being about staying level headed during turmoil, I thought it would be interesting to point out that this applies to the species-organism as a whole as well as individuals. With reference to Frank Herbert's essay "Listening To The Left Hand" he speaks of a situation where all-of-us-together-can-be-mad, it seems in the current times the species is going to have to look hard at itself in the mirror and say 'I choose not to go crazy.' And here i mean in terms of economics, in a few months when we really start to feel the consequences of Covid taking a bite out of us if we didn't by now. Will we be cleverer than we were ninety years ago and avoid a full depression on the same scale, etc. This was going to be even longer and more rambling but I will save the rest of that for Twitter :)
2020-04-29 19:11:47 +0000 UTCQuestion: When you face a fear head-on, how do you feel immediately after? I always have a feeling of elation immediately after facing a fear. Question: What do you do to control your anger when it is triggered?

2020-04-29 18:39:54 +0000 UTCThis chapterโs theme seems to be about challenging yourself so you can get more comfortable in adversity. Can you suggest some ways to put yourself in these uncomfortable situations? What should be your mindset when facing these new adversities?
2020-04-29 14:29:11 +0000 UTC@PJ B I found an online PDF I can read on my browser if you don't mind reading off of a screen. The only thing is if you click on the chapter markers in the beginning they all take you to the same chapter, haha. http://111.90.145.173/ebooks/The-33-Strategies-of-War.pdf
2020-04-29 10:41:29 +0000 UTCHave you ever had any Julius Caesar moments like the one in chapter 3? As in flipping a mistake or flub into a positive by living in the moment?
2020-04-29 10:35:35 +0000 UTCStill no book: let this be a placeholder for a question I'll put in the Twitch chat, hopefully.
