Did you see any tarot resonances in the last reading? Or is that too general?

Clear Menser

not a q... But I've got the ebook and it has Proper Chapters, 1-64. Any chance to get mention of the chapter numbers for the remaining session numbers? Maybe in Twitter? Thank you for all the structure and very fine work you're pouring into this. #appreciated #gratitude

Please remind a lost student. Why/when was the greening of Dune started?

first observation: p.418 "understanding by living" here is the thread of the wordless truth again, learning by example rather than with words. second observation: p.422 : "We're too far from the sietch for THAT!" when Leto stumbles, we're so used to Leto messing with people, even though we know its almost certainly that he didn't stumble on purpose, we enjoy imagining him thinking "it was worth a shot"

Better question: Is this book the first mention of the fremkit? I don't recall it from 1 or 2. But, I guess that's how in media res unfolds, creativity coming fast and unannounced.

Dumb question: What does Spice actually smell like? I've seen cinnamon, ginger... Is Spice Pumpkin Spice?!

It has been mentioned more than once in this book, including in this section, that women are more susceptible to possession than men. It just occurred to me that Paul was the first male to be able to successfully develop other / ancestral memory. So how do they have a recognized pattern of men being less prone to possession by ego memory? Also, Irulen discounts the idea of possession as superstition. I know Irulen is hardly impressive compared to such as Jessica and Alia, but she is Bene Gesserit. How does she not know that possession is real?

So... Ghanima claims the Atreides go back to Agamemnon... who is a mythological character, not a historical figure. She might has well have said they go back to Zeus. Given she's got ancestral memory, does that mean she's lying, exaggerating (e.g. Atreides go back to the supposed time where Agamemnon would have lived, which is true of everyone alive, though not everyone can claim ancestry from a particular region at a particular time), or Dune takes place in a universe where Greek mythology was true. gods and all? I'm not sure I see the point in Ghanima antagonizing Irulan over her lack of ancestral memory. Why claim superiority over her for some obscure references of eons past that are no longer common knowledge? Again, with ancestral memory she could know expressions from pre-historic times and fucking cool characters that were never written about for existing before writing was invented in the first place. Ghanima's a know-it-all, but she does not have much agency at all in the story. She's there to pretend her brother's dead, that seems to be it.
