Just putting finishing touches on the next video. Should be up for Early Access tomorrow (for Patrons and YouTube Members). Unfortunately only managed to get through Bastion, Maldraxxus and Ardenweald before needing to just straight-up stop. lol. Otherwise I would have had some kind of nervous breakdown.
Have to admit; found myself getting a little bit triggered / frustrated trying to write the script for this one. Over the course of adapting this book - there's been a couple of sections that are just really weirdly written (imo). I don't know if it's the writing style of a particular author or if it's a 'me problem'. Though I will stand up for myself a little bit - there are sentences in Chronicle Vol. 4 like "The Winter Queen asked the heroes to hasten to the realm of Revendreth and speak to its ruler, Sire Denathrius, the Eternal One who ruled it" (the ruler who ruled it?!) as well as full-blown errors like "Confronting Lysonia, leader of the Forsworn, yielded new revelations: Lysonia had once been the Paragon of Loyalty, but she had since declared herself the Hand of Doubt" (Devos was the Paragon of Loyalty, not Lysonia).
I know it's minor stuff but like... this is a 'lore compendium'. And a pricey one at that. I don't mean to single out / criticise authors personally but... Blizzard is a corporation. One worth $74 billion. It's not 'punching down' to expect them to like... proofread or something.

I stand by my belief that Shadowlands was absolutely just a 'kicking the can down the road' expansion. In fact I'd take it a step further - I believe the former narrative lead's entire job was to provide a 'serviceable' story to keep players subbed. Hence the mystery-box crap we got FOR YEARS

The jailer's 5000 IQ plan revolved around an "unseen threat" that he gathered after viewing the lives of souls for eons. But he apparently doesn't know what the threat was, or who it was, or when it would come, or anything. The jailer being a "machine puppet" makes all the more sense when you realize the "big bad" of the Warcraft universe was just a machine learning AI all along. Something to be said about how Blizzard operates anymore.
