"Are You Dead Yet?" (Children Of Bodom) Solo Transcription & Lesson/Analysis
Added 2024-09-15 13:00:09 +0000 UTCAlexi Laiho is one of my biggest guitar influences of all time - his combination of sick neoclassical licks and edgy Rock'n'Roll feel is super unique amongst his peers, and taught me that shredding doesn't always have to be incredibly precise and sterile.
Children Of Bodom's "Are You Dead Yet?" is probably his most well known solo so thought it'd make for a great first lesson! It's a perfectly-crafted solo and has everything that you'd expect from his playing: wild alternate-picked passages, tasty arpeggios and crazy whammy inflections. Ideally you want to be in D Standard/Drop C and have a whammy bar for this one!
