The Ultimate Guide To Practicing Guitar + Downloadable Practice Roadmap!
Added 2024-10-08 19:39:49 +0000 UTCHow often should I practice? How long should I practice? What should I practice?
These are by far some of the questions most commonly asked by my students. They can be hard to answer as practicing is something very personal that doesn't really have a single universal approach; everyone learns differently and at varying speeds.
So in this video I go over exactly how I approach practicing and how I've made it work for both myself and thousands of students. All of those burning questions about practicing guitar will finally be given concrete answers!
Not only that but I've also created a super cool Personal Practice Roadmap to accompany the lesson for you guys to use every week and to hopefully help structure your sessions better.
Download the roadmap here 👉 https://tinyurl.com/5yhun93w
Update it each week and share it on the Discord server so we can see what you're working on!

haha, sometimes i place 3 coins between mi fingertips with a clenched fist and use another coin for picking. In fact while i was watching this video i was practicing 1234 4321 1323... Having an organized practice routine with gradual increments is very important. This guitar school is amazing, i´m planning on staying for the longrun. Thanks Bradley

2024-11-10 09:15:50 +0000 UTCIt's nice to know that pickin with a coin on the school desk actually helps😂

2024-10-30 23:46:31 +0000 UTCThis is very helpful for me because one of my biggest issues is knowing "how" and "what" to practice. This gives me a nice jump-off point to structure my routine.

2024-10-27 23:47:47 +0000 UTCThis does really help me, because my problem is I practice too much sometimes, sometimes its 4 hours a day but I work on very few things and get little done. This really helped me manage my time more

2024-10-12 22:38:30 +0000 UTCThanks Bradley! We usually won’t have our phones at Air Force BMT but I’ve heard that some drill sergeants allow it at night before lights out. Either way, I’ve got a ton of music stuck in my head and a lot I’ve learned, shouldn’t be an issue! Thanks again!

2024-10-11 04:18:55 +0000 UTC8 weeks isn't as bad as it seems. Try and listen to as much music as you can while there (ideally songs that you already know) and do lots of mental practice (run through the songs in your head as though you were playing). Seems weird and kinda abstract but it really does work wonders for keeping guitar "current" in your mind. Good luck man, keep us updated!

2024-10-10 23:51:46 +0000 UTCAnd yes, learning to sweep is possible in 1 week if you work hard!

2024-10-10 16:51:25 +0000 UTCI could not sweep pick at all. I just learned the first pattern from the sweep pick lesson and followed his advice. Tortuous the first few days but just the repetition it started just flowing and now at least the first pattern is coming along smoothly barely thinking about it. Took me 2 weeks, but I'm old and slow.

2024-10-10 12:28:34 +0000 UTCamazing! thanks

2024-10-09 00:53:06 +0000 UTCI see, some have noted that it actually became easier for them to progress when they had a hiatus. Perhaps burnout started accumulating before hand.

2024-10-09 00:20:56 +0000 UTCAgree with @AlexB. The break can suck getting back into the swing of things, but trust your mind and your body. It's the same thing as bodybuilding. It doesn't take long for the mind to get back into the swing of things!

2024-10-08 22:18:46 +0000 UTCThank you brother, I’m only a year in anyway so progress will probably come back quick. I saw on Reddit that some had a similar thing when they had a bit of a hiatus, so I guess maybe it can be good!

2024-10-08 20:57:38 +0000 UTCI had almost two months off. Mixture of reasons. Started back a week ago and right back where I was after some callous building. If anything I feel more creative and less boxed in than I did when I stopped. So don't worry man it'll still be there. Good luck

2024-10-08 20:56:03 +0000 UTCweekly goal: learn to sweep pick? is this OK?

2024-10-08 20:50:11 +0000 UTCSomething I am a bit worried about having time off of guitar. I’m about to go into Basic Training (8 weeks long with tech school after) and won’t be able to play. I’m worried I’ll regress a lot because of that.

2024-10-08 20:26:45 +0000 UTCThis video is perfect for me because I just started with this school and didn't know where to start. thanks

2024-10-08 20:07:39 +0000 UTCThanks for this, Bradley. I definitely need a more focused practice schedule. I spend too much time trying to figure out what to work on when I sit down to practice each day.

2024-10-08 19:48:43 +0000 UTCThanks for this one! I've always used a spreadsheet to mark and keep track of progress but never thought about such roadmap
