Ohhhh so that’s how you pronounce it! I was thinking ice Quokka like mocha Ahh I love Monica and Chandler so much they make me so happy 💖I’d be so happy if my partner cleaned the whole place I’m glad Monica cleared that up with him.

Raquel

AWWW THATS SO CUTE 😭😭 that man loves you 🥰🥰🤍🤍

IcedQuokka

When I come home and my husband has cleaned I see it as such an act of love. Not too long ago I was out of town on a long weekend with some friends. When I came home he had the whole house cleaned, had reorganized our bedroom closet and done a couple other small projects around the house. 😍😍😍

Sarah

Omg so true 😂😂😂 forgot about that ahahaha he sabotaged himself so badly lol 😭

IcedQuokka

I low key agree ahahaa she doesn’t put a lot of feeling or expression behind much of her lines 😂

Joey's new roommate was Elle Macpherson. She was indeed Australian, and a supermodel.

Also the 1999 comment and the reminder Ross has been divorced three times in this episode reminded me of something! In the Season 5 New Years episode where they're all making resolutions, Ross says "No divorces in 1999!" which he fails. It makes me wonder if they planned the Ross/Rachel marriage that far ahead and they used that for foreshadowing or they just decided it when writing the Season 5 finale and its just a funny coincidence.

I'm not a huge fan of Janine because I don't think the actress is that good. I think she delivers a lot of her lines very stilted. Like when she says "Joey do you want me to put it all in your room?" She's not emotionless or anything but I think next to other characters in the show, which at this point rely really heavily on phyiscal comedy and are very larger than life in how they say things, she really stands out as very subdued in how she says her lines.

Calum

It’s so cute right!!! Im training for a half marathon right now so I might get a vest just like hers to jog in hahaha

Personally, I don't think these types of jokes are dated at all because there are people that still think this way today, the difference is that TV shows today are too afraid to joke about these kinds of people. I won't spoil it but it's the same thing for a later episode with a certain babysitter. I've seen a lot of reactors saying that it "didnt age well" but again I think it has because people do still think this way, but current media wants to act like these people no longer exist.

BND

Ooo how random!! I didn’t know Courtney Cox was from the south! Does she still have a Alabama accent? Yesss Rachel and phoebe are such a random pair and are proving to be hilarious I love it 😂 Yesssss I agree!! He’s still trying to figure out his new identity with it being tied to a relationship now I think

IcedQuokka

Yeah I think I read in an interview that she said the rest of the cast weren't that nice to her during her time there. That sucks.

BND

The funny thing about the eight episode being a product of the time, is that it comes off more dated than the actual earlier episodes. Like the episode in season three where Chandler was hypnotized to be a strong confident woman. He was just living his best life. While it was comedic and made to be the joke, nobody asked him 'why are you acting like a woman'. While here, it's really on the nose with 'I'm a woman' line from Joey. It's a strange episode when it comes to Friends, because until now Friends hasn't usually put so much emphasis through direct dialog on these jokes, they usually have more of a flow and the characters reaction is through their body language, which makes it funnier.

Monika

I too love pheobe’s running outfit

Mina Friberg

Elle Macpherson… She’s from NSW.

Mike Shaw

Yeah, the actress playing Janine is Australian, but I know a big thing in Hollywood, especially during that time, was for people to get a dialect coach to cover their accents. Actors from the American South have to do it all the time. I think Courteney Cox had to do it too because she's from Alabama (I think) and they have a real distinct accent. I love the idea of Rachel and Phoebe getting more storylines together. They have a real playful silliness to them that I don't think Rachel and Monica got to have because Monica is a little bit more like an authority figure. In the 2nd episode I definitely feel like Chandler's obsession with all the girly stuff was just his way of dealing with his own issues learning to live with Monica and losing that bachelor lifestyle. Lastly, your love for Monica and Chandler as a couple is so much fun to watch each week.

Chris

Janine is played by 80’s and 90’s supermodel Elle Macpherson. I think she’s originally from Killara, Australia but I don’t know where she permanently settled. She’s had other acting roles, but mostly movies. She made a huge stink about how she didn’t completely like her time on the show and doesn’t like being recognized from it.
